Activity Type Introduction
Reading, writing, This 'be going to' and present continuous activity helps to teach
listening and speaking students how to ask and answer questions about future plans and
activity arrangements.
Procedure
Focus
Give each student a copy of the worksheet.
Future forms
'Are you going to...?' Go through how to form questions and short answers with 'be
questions and short going to' and the present continuous to ask about future plans
answers. and arrangements.
Present continuous yes/ Elicit the questions the students need to ask from the worksheet,
no questions and short e.g. 'Are you watching TV tonight?' Also, go through possible
answers answers and follow-up 'Wh' questions.
Students then walk around the classroom and ask questions
Aim about their classmates' future plans and arrangements.

When a classmate answers 'Yes, I am' to a question, the student
