6. Reason
To provide alternate lip seal part numbers that have experienced tearing at very low times.
C. Description
This commercial engine bulletin gives you the procedure to rework and reidentify the current lip
seals (23063371 and 2306:3372) to alternate lip seals (23075960 and 23075961) used in cases
where the tearing of seals has been experienced.

M. Prerequisites - None
2. ACCOMPLISHMENT INSTRUCTIONS
A. Rework the lip seal.
(1) Remove spring from inner diameter of the lip seal.
(2) Using scotch brite material or a burring process to remove the original Rolls-Royce part
number and last revision number, being cautious not to damage any part of the seal.
NOTE: Limit the removed material to elastomer only. Do not expose the underlying metal
case.
(3) Wash the seal with clean engine oil (MIL-PRF-23699) to remove any excess material
resulting from the part number removal process.

B. Reidentify the part.
(1) Reidentify part number per AS478, Rev K, 4.2.6; A tag bearing the required identification
marking is attached to the item, or to a bag containing the item. The means of attachment
and location shall be such that no damage shall be done to the item.
C. Record compliance with this commercial engine bulletin in the applicable section of the engine
logbook, accessory gearbox (yellow pages), Part III, Modification Record as applicable with the
