1. Introduction to Power System

- A power system consists of generation, transmission, distribution, and utilization of electric power.

- Major components: Generators, Transformers, Transmission Lines, Substations, and Loads.

2. Generation of Electrical Power

- Types of power plants:

- Thermal (Coal-based)

- Hydroelectric

- Nuclear

- Renewable: Solar, Wind, Biomass

- Key parameters: Capacity, Efficiency, Load Factor

3. Transmission of Electrical Power

- Transmits bulk power from generating stations to substations.

- Voltage levels: 132 kV, 220 kV, 400 kV and above.

- Components:

- Transmission Lines (Conductors)

- Towers and Insulators

- Substations (Step-up & Step-down transformers)

4. Distribution of Electrical Power

- Supplies power to end users.

- Voltage levels: 11 kV (primary), 415 V (secondary)
