In modern logistics operations, maintaining real-time visibility and

minimizing route deviations are essential for improving delivery reliability,

reducing fuel costs, and enabling responsive fleet management. This
project aims to demonstrate how data analytics and operational
monitoring tools can be used to optimize logistics performance through an
existing web-based platform—Fleetx’s Real-Time Operational Dashboard.
The core objective is to provide actionable insights by analyzing deviation
patterns and integrating them into daily workflows, empowering logistics
teams to detect and resolve issues as they arise.

The project involved a comprehensive deviation analysis during my

internship at Fleetx. Using vehicle GPS tracking and fleet management
data, I identified off-route movement patterns and their operational
causes. These insights were embedded into Fleetx’s dashboard system—
requiring no additional coding—allowing for real-time tracking,
diagnostics, and performance optimization.

The system includes the following key components:

● Real-Time Monitoring: The dashboard displays live statuses of all

vehicles (running, idle, parked, disconnected), along with job states
(loaded, unloaded, waiting, early, on-time, late), visible in map, list, or
split views.

● Control Room: A centralized operational view showing driver details,

live job status, estimated time of arrival (ETA), and job completion rates—
allowing for fast assessment and live operational decisions.

● Job Management & Predictive Analytics: Users can monitor the full
lifecycle of every job, including completion percentages, delays, early
arrivals, and risk categorization (low, medium, high). Predictive ETA and
delay analysis improve reliability.

● Route Deviation Visualization: A map-based deviation tool shows

actual vs preferred routes, helping users visually identify and act on
deviations in real time.

● RFID Sealing & Theft Control: Security integration allows RFID seal
tracking, and logs unauthorized stops, toll crossings, and seal mismatches
—key to preventing pilferage and ensuring route compliance.

● Risk & Discrepancy Reports: Job reports display risk levels (Care,
Extra Care, No Care) based on parameters such as idling in theft zones,
route diversion, excessive lead time, and more. These can be exported for
compliance or audit purposes.
● Route & Site Analytics: Users can track route performance, create or
edit routes, and evaluate plant-level risks and idle times. Site Analytics
identify location-based risks if vehicles overstay defined thresholds.

By integrating operational data with real-time analytics, this project

enhances day-to-day logistics visibility without new development effort. It
illustrates how prebuilt logistics dashboards, when fueled with strong
analysis, enable proactive management and rapid intervention—bridging
the gap between data insights and real-world action.
