Problems Facing with Tachyon
1. Login Issues: Users are experiencing delayed login times and often need to
attempt logging in multiple times to succeed. This can lead to frustration and
decreased productivity.
2. Execution Delays: There is a noticeable delay in the execution of trades,
ranging from 3 to 4 seconds. This lag can result in missed opportunities and
suboptimal trade entries and exits.
3. Trade Reconciliation: Carried positions, when squared off the next day, are
incorrectly classified as new positions. Consequently, the system attempts to
square them off again, creating unintended new positions and increasing
transaction errors.
4. Strike Functionality: In multi-leg strategies, such as the butterfly strategy, if
any single leg becomes zero, the strike functionality stops working. This disrupts
the intended strategy and can lead to significant losses.
5. Stop Loss Accuracy: There is a significant discrepancy in stop loss
execution, with deviations of ₹20 to ₹40 from the intended stop loss rate. The
target is to reduce this variance to between ₹5 and ₹10 to ensure more precise
risk management.
6. Margin/Lot Refresh Delay: There is a delay in the refreshing of margin and
lot information, which affects both login and RMS (Risk Management System)
functions. This can lead to inaccurate margin calculations and potentially risky
trading conditions.
7. Pricing Slippage: Users encounter slippage in pricing, which impacts the
execution of trades. Slippage occurs when the price at which a trade is executed
differs from the expected price, leading to potential financial loss.
8. Multiple Stop Losses: When the Gross MTM (Mark-to-Market) hits a
threshold, it stops all the row IDs, thereby affecting individual row stop losses.
This can lead to unintended closing of positions and disruptions in trading
strategies.
9. Kill Switch/Panic Button Ineffectiveness: The kill switch or panic button
does not effectively square off trades as intended. This safety feature is crucial
for risk management and its failure can lead to significant losses.
10. Error Handling: Errors occurring in the F3 function result in a forced TAB
switch, requiring users to press (Ctrl + Alt + Del). A more efficient solution would
be a simple pop-up notification to alert users to the error without interrupting
their workflow.
11. Combined Tracker: While the combined tracker is useful, it could be
improved by displaying only the remaining positions. This would save users time
spent calculating pending positions manually in Excel.
12. MTM Discrepancies: There is a discrepancy between the overall MTM
figure and the single row MTM figure. This inconsistency can lead to premature
triggers of the gross MTM threshold, resulting in unnecessary interruptions to
trading.
13. Re-Login: Software automatically logs out whenever changes are made to
the ID through RMS, such as adjustments to LOT limits or MTM limit resets. It also
requires re-login whenever the MTM limit is reached.
14. LOT Limit Issue: Even with the lot limit set to 200 lots per strike/row ID, the
system fails to enforce this limit, resulting in trades being executed with higher
lot sizes, such as 600+ lots.
15. Row ID limits: A maximum of 100 rows can be opened in a single day, with
only 500 lots allowed to be traded per row.
Features to be added in the Software:
1. Kill Switch:
- The kill switch prioritizes squaring off profitable trades first when the MTM
(Mark-to-Market) value is in profit.
- This strategic approach helps to maximize gains and minimize losses during
automated risk management interventions.
2. Margin Bar (with Refresh Button):
- The margin bar operates like a health bar, displaying real-time margin usage
from 0% (no margin used) to 100% (full margin used).
- If a trader exceeds the allotted margin by 150%, a 10-minute countdown is
initiated. If the margin is not brought under control within this timeframe, the kill
switch will activate to prevent further risk.
3. Minimum Clicks:
- The software is designed to reduce the number of clicks required for
operation, incorporating shortcut keys to directly open desired strategy tabs.
- It also reduces the number of columns in a Row ID by combining related
fields, such as L-Lot (long lot) and S-Lot (short lot), into a single column for
streamlined data entry and navigation.
4. User-Friendly Interface:
- The interface is intuitively designed to be easy to understand and read,
enhancing the overall user experience.
- Clear layouts and accessible information presentation ensure that traders can
quickly access and interpret the data they need.
5. Greek Data (Combined Strategy Greek):
- A designated area within the interface displays all Greek data for the selected
Row ID without requiring additional clicks.
- This centralized view of critical data (e.g., Delta, Gamma, Theta, Vega) allows
traders to quickly assess the risk and potential return of their strategies.
6. High/Low Data for Every Strategy:
- The software shows the high and low prices of At-The-Money (ATM) strikes for
the selected Row ID strategy within the Greek data space.
- This feature provides immediate insight into the volatility and potential price
movements of the underlying assets, aiding in better-informed decision-making.
