Discussions on Findings and Implications:
Findings:
Teachers consistently score higher than learners, with the gap widening at
higher grade levels. While both show strengths in basic arithmetic,
learners struggle with multiplication from Grade 4 onward and face
increasing difficulties with fractions, algebra, and equations in later
grades. Teachers also have weaknesses in advanced topics like rules of
calculation and simultaneous equations.
Implications:
1. Strengthening Foundations – Early intervention in multiplication and
division is crucial.
2. Focus on Fractions and Decimals – Remedial support is needed from
Grade 5 onwards.
3. Enhancing Algebraic Thinking – Inquiry-based learning can improve
problem-solving skills.
4. Teacher Development – Training in advanced topics will help
address their weaknesses.
5. Differentiated Instruction – Tailored lessons and remedial support
can bridge learning gaps.

Conclusion
Strengthening fundamental skills and providing targeted
interventions will improve student outcomes. Addressing these
weaknesses early will help mitigate challenges in higher-level concepts
such as algebra and quadratic equations.
Teachers also need ongoing professional development to enhance
their instruction in more advanced mathematical areas. A combination of
conceptual reinforcement, interactive teaching methods, and remedial
support will be essential to improving student outcomes in mathematics.
Recommendations / Proposed Interventions:
1. Conduct Division training to teachers on Critical Content and
pedagogies focusing on the least learned competencies and ensure
the proper dissemination during LAC Sessions.
2. Intensify the monitoring on the utilization of Math manipulatives in
the delivery of instruction for learners’ better understanding of the
basic concepts in mathematics.
