Remove/install
1 Switch off all electrical consumers
All electrical consumers must be switched off.
Otherwise, they may be damaged when the
ground line (4) is connected/disconnected.
2 Switch off ignition and store transmitter key

8 Use a diode test lamp to check the on-board If the diode test lamp lights up, the on-board
electrical system for voltage between the electrical system is still active because of a
positive line (6) and a suitable ground point defect in the electrical system. In this case

11 Swivel bracket (10) upwards
12 Detach vent hose (8) from additional battery Installation:

additional battery for ECO start/stop function
(G1/13).
Otherwise, emitted battery vapor may damage
surrounding components.
13 Remove additional battery for ECO start/stop
function (G1/13) from the battery carrier
14 Install in the reverse order
