END TERM EXAMINATION GUIDELINES –

FEBRUARY 2025
APPEARING IN ONLINE EXAMINATIONS

1. STEPS FOR ACCESSING THE EXAM ONLINE:

✓ Students will log in with their respective student login ID through the student
portal.
✓ Click on the "Go to Exam" option available in the left pane under the Dashboard
menu.
✓ Enter the Access Key (Password) provided in the admit card against each
course to initiate the exam process.
✓ A backup URL will be provided if students are unable to log in through the
portal.
✓ Students must keep their login details secure and not share this information
with anyone.

2. BEFORE STARTING THE EXAM:

Ensure the following setup and requirements:


✓ Device Requirements: Use a laptop/desktop only. Tablets,
Chromebooks, and mobile devices are not permitted.
✓ Hardware:
▪ Functional webcam with a resolution of 640x480 or higher.
▪ Working microphone.
▪ Adequate power backup and a stable internet connection are
mandatory for seamless examination.
✓ Browser: The exam will work only on Google Chrome.
✓ Other Requirements:
▪ Disable all software updates.
▪ Close or disable all background applications, as any pop-up
notifications will be considered navigation.
▪ Internet speed should be a minimum of 512 KBPS during the
exam. Check speed at [Link].

▪ Ensure the location setting on the device is enabled.
o Mock Test:

✓ Students are required to give a mock test using the same device they
plan to use for the actual exam. This ensures readiness and
compatibility.

3. DURING THE EXAM:

✓ Proctoring:
▪ Students are monitored using a combination of system-enabled and
human proctoring.
▪ Real-time video and audio feeds will be transmitted for invigilation
purposes.
✓ Student Conduct:
▪ Students must follow all instructions displayed during the examination.
▪ Unethical behavior will not be tolerated, and any malpractice will result
in disqualification.
✓ Exam Slot Rules:
▪ Students must be ready at least 15 minutes before the examination.
▪ Entry to the exam is allowed only during the start of the selected slot.
▪ Late entry is permitted up to 30 minutes after the exam begins.
▪ The exam slot duration is strictly 2 hours, with no extensions allowed.
✓ Verification Process:
▪ Allow camera, microphone, and location access when prompted by the
exam application.
▪ Students must:
▪ Capture a clear photo for verification.
▪ Capture a photo of a valid government-issued photo ID card.
▪ Authenticate their identity through the proctor before starting the
exam.

4. Recommended Dos:

✓ Sit in a well-lit area to ensure a clear photo.


✓ Ensure your entire face is visible within the camera frame.
✓ Dress in formal attire.
✓ Sit comfortably at a table and chair setup.
✓ Ensure no one else is in the room during the exam.
✓ Focus on the exam screen and follow all proctor instructions displayed in the
chat box.

5. Recommended Don’ts:

✓ Avoid having any light source (e.g., bulb, tube light, open window) behind you.
✓ Do not talk to anyone or use a phone during the exam.

✓ Do not allow anyone else in the room while the exam is in progress.
✓ Avoid navigating away from the exam window; repeated attempts will result in
automatic termination of the exam.
✓ Do not cover the camera or microphone.
✓ Do not end the exam unless it is fully completed.

6. If the Exam is Interrupted:

✓ Responses are automatically saved if the exam gets disconnected.


✓ In case of any technical issues, students can contact the technical support
team using helpline numbers provided in the student portal during the
examination.

EXAMINATION SCHEDULE

✓ Theory Exams: Monday, 10th February 2025 to Friday, 28th February 2025.
✓ Practical Exams: Thursday, 27th February 2025 to Friday, 28th February 2025
(only for BCA & MCA students, excluding those enrolled from July 2020
onwards).

EXAMINATION SLOTS

✓ Slot 1: 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM IST.


✓ Slot 2: 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM IST.
✓ Slot 3: 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM IST.
✓ Slot 4: 8:00 PM – 10:00 PM IST.

QUESTION PAPER FORMAT

✓ Section A: 2 Essay Questions (7.5 marks each) – Total 15 Marks.


✓ Section B: Case Study with 2 Questions (7.5 marks each) – Total 15 Marks.
✓ Section C: 20 MCQs (2 marks each) – Total 40 Marks.
✓ Total Marks: 70 Marks.

PASSING CRITERIA
✓ Minimum 30% in End Term Examination (ETE).

✓ Minimum 30% in Internal Assessment.
✓ Aggregate Requirements:
o PG Programs: 40% overall.
o UG Programs: 35% overall.
✓ Semester Requirements:
o PG Programs: Minimum 5.0 SGPA and 6.0 CGPA to qualify.
o UG Programs: Minimum 4.5 SGPA and 5.0 CGPA to qualify.
