Investigating the Potential of Capsicum frutescens Pod extract as


Energy Booster Tea on Mice

Objectives:
This study aims to determine the potential of Capsicum frutescens pod extract without
seeds, also known as “Siling Labuyo” as energy booster tea on mice.

Specifically, this study aims to:

1. Formulate a tea from the extract of Capsicum frutescens (Siling Labuyo) Pod without
seeds.
2. Describe the changes of Capsicum frutescens pod without seeds extract as tea on the
blood glucose of mice on different concentration:
1.1 30% extract 75% water with sugar syrup concentration
1.2 50% extract 50% water with sugar syrup concentration
1.3 75% extract 30% water with sugar syrup concentration

3. Describe the changes of Capsicum frutescens pod without seeds extract as tea on the
blood pressure level of mice on different concentration:
1.4 30% extract 75% water with sugar syrup concentration
1.5 50% extract 50% water with sugar syrup concentration
1.6 75% extract 30% water with sugar syrup concentration

4. Determine the effects on the different control groups:


I. Positive Control Group: Mice with Enervon Multivitamins Syrup.
II. Negative Control Group: Mice with Water Only
III. Experimental Control Group: Mice with Capsicum frutescens extract as tea.

5.Determine the significant relationship of the two biomarker: blood glucose level and
blood pressure level.

6. Describe the significant difference within the group through ANOVA to determine the
effects of the extract on the samples.
