INTRODUCTION
HIGH POWER AC MOTOR APPLICATION WITH 3 POWER PHASE SUPPLY
High power AC motors with three-phase power supply are integral
components in various industrial applications, driving the machinery that
powers modern infrastructure. The use of three-phase power, characterized by
three sinusoidal waveforms with a 120-degree phase difference, provides a
highly efficient and reliable means of delivering electrical energy to high-power
motors.
These motors find extensive application in industries such as
manufacturing, oil and gas, mining, and transportation, where robust and
scalable power solutions are essential. The three-phase supply offers inherent
advantages, including smoother operation, reduced vibration, and higher
power efficiency compared to single-phase systems.
The versatility of high-power AC motors is evident in their ability to drive
heavy-duty equipment such as compressors, pumps, conveyor systems, and
large-scale HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) systems. Whether
it's the precision required in manufacturing processes or the torque demanded
in heavy machinery, three-phase AC motors serve as the workhorses that
propel industrial operations forward.
In this exploration of high-power AC motor applications, we delve into
the diverse sectors that benefit from these robust electrical systems,
highlighting their critical role in powering the machinery that drives progress
across multiple industries.
SAFETY PRECAUTION
I. Electric shocks are easily received and avoided. The risk is not always
apparent, be careful.
II. Beware of live wires or conductors bare or insulated.
III. Never temper unnecessarily with any electrical apparatus.
IV. Never energize a line unless you are sure that all is clear and there is no
one working on that.
V. Always maintain earth connections in satisfactory condition. Safety
depends upon good earthing.
OBJECTIVES
To introduce basic components of three phase AC motor wiring.
To learn how to assemble the circuit on the workbench.
To learn how to troubleshoot the circuit.
MATERIALS
415V AC 3 phase supply – 1 unit
24 Vdc power supply – 1 unit
Push Button normally close (N.C) – 1 unit
Push Button normally open (N.O) – 1 unit
Contactor – 1 unit
Overload relay (optional) – 1 unit

PROCEDURE
1. Wire the control circuit connections according to the provided design.
2. Wire the power circuit connections according to the provided design.

Connecting between the
power circuit and control
circuit.
Student are checking either
the wire a connect properly
or not. This wire checking
were very important to
prevent electrical shock or
short.
This is the setup when both
power circuit and control
circuit are connected
Make sure that the wired are connected
to correct input so the rotation of the
motor are in the correct way.
RESULTS
After the control circuit are fully wired, we can control the incoming electric
current as well as disconnect the electric flow in the circuit. We can conclude
that electricity flows in the circuit when we press one of the switches in the
circuit, we can see that the light in the circuit lights up. Next, we can also cut
off the electricity by pressing the other switch and the light goes out. Here we
can conclude that the control circuit is installed perfectly.
