SCRIPT FOR TUGHLAQ PLAY
Scene 1 – Judge (Kazi -i- Mumalik) sitting near the table. Conversation between Old man and the
Young Man.
Old Man – This country is completely ruined ! Tughlaq Is an Insult to Islam.
Young Man – He is A True Islamist. You don’t know anything Grandfather.(Pause) . He has made a
rule that people should pray 5 times in a day.
Old Man – Tughlaq Has also Banned the Jiziya Tax which the Hindus Pay. That is against the Kooran ,
Don’t you know this.
Young Man – Show Some Gratitude !! He is our Best Friend.
Old man – Such a Worthless Best Friend Tughlaq is. He is turning Islam into a different Religion.
Announcer- Anishya…….. (Tell about Vishnu Prasad)
(When Anishya ends narration….The crowd the old and young man will act like murmuring that time
time Bhaskar tell – Order Order”) After that tell the final Verdict of case.
Judge – Listening to Everything , I Announce that Vishnu Prasad ‘s Claim is true. And the majesty is
Guilty of Illegally taking the brahmins land. Thus , Vishnu Prasad Will be getting 500 silver dinars
from the State. And will also he will be offered Job in the Civil Service.
This Case stands closed. The Court is Adjourned. (After Bhaskar Beating the hammer 3 times)
Scene 2 – TUGHLAQ ENTRY
Anishya announces Tughlaq Entry
Beats the Table… and walks from the Audience. With assistant (silvia) holding umbrella. Let the
Young Man Shout “Raja ki Jaii” from side.
Tughlaq – My Awam , You Have seen the impartial Justice provided to the brahmin . This is how
Justice works in my kingdom, without considering their religion caste and creed.
(Walks to Bhaskar for appreciating him)
Tughlaq - I am very pleased with your decision. Today I will be Taking a new step in which I would
like you all to coopearate with me. My empires capital will be shifted from Delhi to Daulatabad. Delhi
is too near to the border and is open to foreign attacks. Daulatabad is a city of Hindus and as a
capital it would enhance the Hindu – muslim Unity . Those who have faith in me , come to
daulatabad . We shall build a new Empire there !!!!
(TUGHLAQ EXITS , JUDGE EXITS)
Old Man – (angrily) what is this shifting of capital now!?
Young Man – It is Such a Wonderful decision . (happily)
Old man – He is misusing his Fathers Throne. He killed his Father . The full Empire knows this.
Anishya announces that the crowd disperses the court. But Aazam remains there .
Aazam – Where is the Brahmin…. Did he come out..
(IN BACKGROUND Young man should talk – “Shame on him.. going against the sultan”)
Aazam – Wohooo there I found u… (Jumping)
Aziz – (Gets scared and Turns back to attack aazam )……………….
Aazam – Oh Habibi, Maafi ..

Aziz – (laughs) Then what would happen to the impartial justice of Sultan .A muslim cant file a case
