AFTER READING
WHAT WERE YOUR THOUGHTS
AFTER READING THE PIECE
As a group, we were saddened and disappointed by the ending of
the story since the couple was denied the opportunity to live
happily in each other's arms due to the opposition of their
respective families. However, we are in awe on how genuine and
selfless their love is for each

other and that they’re willing make
sacrifices just to see each other. It made us realize that true love
can conquer all hardships and that death cannot keep them
apart. Their wishes are granted at the end of the story: their
ashes are interred in the same urn. This story simply implies that
genuine and true love exist.
B. Did your previous perception of the
story changed?
Yes, we expected the story to be full of romance
and happiness, but it was instead full of tragedy and
heartbreak. This taught us a lesson that if you love
someone, you should not offer everything you have
since it would lead to disaster and death.
