Statement of purpose
MS in US
The characteristics that distinguish me as an engineer include a strong desire to
learn about and investigate a system's inner workings. I have taken advantage of
every opportunity to widen my skill set and improve my work, and I see graduate
school as a fantastic chance to take my knowledge to the next level. My goal is to
finish the MS programme in Embedded Systems and gain expertise in the most
advanced technologies used in the industry. These days, embedded systems are
not only commonplace but also getting smarter and more networked every day.
I'm eager to learn more about this subject and create a solid skill set that will
enable me to succeed as a skilled developer of embedded systems. I have always
shown great interest in learning topics and concepts thoroughly, which has
helped me do well in school and establish a solid academic history. My area of
expertise has always been mathematics, and I have always enjoyed the challenge
of tackling challenging issues. An undergraduate engineering degree was a logical
progression of my interests given my talent for math and prowess in analytical
problem solving.
I was introduced to the C and C++ software during my undergraduate studies in
Electronics and Communication Engineering, and I was happy to realise that it
required a lot of logical reasoning, just like arithmetic. I was able to clearly
understand the principles of computer architecture after learning about
microprocessors and microcontrollers. Additionally, using MATLAB and Digital
Signal Processing to conduct sophisticated computational calculations was
interesting and demanding. I learned how to build and construct logic circuits in
the course on digital system design, which was quite intriguing, and I learned a lot
about how modern computers are set up in the course on computer architecture
organisation. Overall, the carefully crafted undergraduate programme gave me
solid technical skills that I am confident will be useful during graduate studies.
Thesis work I did in my last year focused on home automation using a PIC
microcontroller and DTMF control. The project included several devices, including
an automatic lighting system, a person counting system, and a temperature
control system. We could remotely control each of these devices thanks to a
phone line connecting the complete system to the DTMF module. The project was
a valuable learning opportunity for time management, teamwork, and technical
implementation. I created an auto charge system in C for a different project
merely to practise programming. Along with my schooling, I also completed
industry training in ARM and the PIC microcontroller, which was a great addition
to my prior knowledge.
Since graduating, I have held positions with two prestigious companies: FIS Global
Business Solutions, which serves large American banks, and Tech Mahindra, an IT
services, outsourcing, and consulting firm. My work with these companies has
provided me with wonderful learning opportunities and introduced me to some
of the newest software tools and technology. I've had the opportunity to develop
as a programmer as well, and I can now speak several different languages. A Bus
Base Ticketing portal that allows users to register and reserve tickets for certain
destinations was one of the most fascinating projects I have ever worked on. As a
software engineer, it was my responsibility to proactively monitor the servers and
determine the root problem.
As a person with a wide range of interests, I participated in various extracurricular
activities during school and college which helped me grow as a well-rounded
person. Over the last few years, I have also discovered my passion for adventure
which has taken me to new places and has brought me in contact with people
from various backgrounds. Likewise, I have been active in corporate social life
annual camps wherein we bring in underprivileged children from our society for
an office visit. Interacting with them has helped me develop a better
understanding of their lives and hardships and I have learnt to listen and
empathize. I aspire to build on these qualities in the coming years and tread the
entrepreneurial path in the future, establishing my own embedded systems
development firm.
Your graduate program would provide me an ideal platform to explore my
creativity and broaden my skill set in the domain of embedded system, thereby
laying a strong foundation for my dreams. I hope my candidature proves worthy
of your academic standards and earns me an opportunity to further develop my
knowledge.

Subject: Application for position of Electronics and telecommunication Engineer
Dear Mr. Toney,
I know you are looking for a qualified and experienced electronic technician for a manu-
facturing company. I am writing to introduce myself as a suitable candidate for this posi-
tion. I have enclosed my resume and cover letter so that you can see for yourself.
As you can see from my resume, I have spent the past four years working as an Elec-
tronics engineer at Goodrich Corporation, developing, designing, and optimizing elec-
tronic products and processes. During this time, I have gained a lot of experience in the
real-world development and troubleshooting of electronic products, both on existing
products and on products I have created and implemented. I excel as a team member
and can lead as a project manager. I have also won two awards for his work as an elec -
tronics engineer at The Miter Corporation. I also have a master's degree in electrical en-
gineering from Georgia Southern University, completed an internship at Nuclear Power
Cooperation of India limited (NPCIL), and assisted in a variety of small and large busi -
ness projects.
I would make an ideal choice for this Electronics Engineer position and thank you for re-
viewing this cover letter and resume. I can be contacted at the above contact informa-
tion.
Yours Sincerely,
Rini Rajendran
