system programming and computer control. he helped me a lot to learn about TCP/IP connection
along with the Lab view programming. Although this is an group assignment, he
helped me to solve the problem I faced while completing this assignment. I appreciate whatever She
taught us to learn this new skills.
Besides, I would also like to thank my friend who helped me a lot to complete this assignment. Although he
is not an expert in Lab view he helped me out a lot by discussing the problem and doing online

ABSTRACT
The present work attempts to automate the opening & closing of gates at a rail road crossing in
general level crossing gates are operated by a gate keeper . The gate keeper receives the
information about the trains schedule from a near station . when the train starts to leave the station
station in-charge sends this information to the closest gatekeeper to get [Link] human
intervention can be replaced by automating the process. In situations where the train is late due to
some reason,the gates remains open for long durations causing a lot of traffic jam and a lot chaos
near the gates .This too can be prevented by automatic gate. The proposed system uses infrared sensors
to detect the arrival and departure of the train. When the train is sensed coming ,signals are
provided to the traffic indicating the arrival of the train on the [Link] the second sensor detects
the train then the signal turns red and the motor operates to close the gate. The gate remains closed
until the train completely moves away from the level cross. When the train is departed and train is
detected by the third sensor, the traffic signal turns green and the motor operates to open the gate.
Thus automation of the gate operations at the railway level cross is achieved using sensors.

PROJECT WAS DESIGNED AND IMPLEMENTED. THIS PROJECT CAN BE
ENHANCED USING ANDROID APPLICATION DEVICE FOR REMOTE OPERATION.
WHEN THE ROBOT FACES A FIRE THEN IT EXTINGUISHES FIRE WITH THE HELP
OF PUMP MOTOR CONNECTED TO A WATER TANK MOUNTED ON ITS BODY.
