Distance Time Graph

This document provides data to draw a distance-time graph and asks questions about the motion of the object. It shows the object accelerated from 0 to 10 m/s between 0-1 seconds, moved at a uniform speed of 40 m/s from 4-6 seconds, and accelerated again from 40 to 55 m/s from 7-10 seconds. The object was stationary between 0 seconds and when it reached 10 m/s. To correctly draw a distance-time graph, the student should use a ruler and draw the graph as a straight line when motion is uniform and a curved line when accelerating.

Distance time graph
1. Draw the graph using the data in the table.
Make sure it is neat and accurate and done with a pencil and
ruler!
2. Between what times was the object stationary? How do
you know?
3. Describe the motion of the object from beginning to
end. Use the key words in the box when necessary.
Stationary Uniform speed

4. Explain to a new person in school how you should draw a

distance time graph. What rules would you give them so
the graph is done correctly?
