Proposed Product Ideas:

Eco-Friendly Phone Case

There are a lot of smartphone users worldwide in today’s time. A phone case can be used for 2 years before
it is replaced with a new one. 1.5 billion phone cases are thrown away yearly which produces a lot of waste
and since phone cases made from plastic aren’t biodegradable, it is harmful towards the environment.

We want to reduce the plastic waste that the phone case produces each year by producing an alternative
solution that is much safer for the environment. Bamboo is known for its durability and creating an
environmental-friendly products which we believe is best suited for creating a case that protects the phone.

Eco-friendly phone case is made from bamboo, a natural and renewable resource which makes it a
biodegradable product. It is slim and lightweight to easily carry around and would not have any difficulty
on putting it inside in pockets. The Eco-friendly phone case is designed not only to protect the phone when
it falls, it is also designed to protect the phone’s screen when the screen is placed face-down to avoid
scratches.

Ballpoint Pen Made of Recycled Bottles

Plastic bottles are used by the people around the globe in their every day life, but due to this, the waste of
plastic bottles increases and is one of the reasons why pollution continues to exist in today’s time. Statistics
show that only a small percentage of plastics are recycled than the significant amount of plastic used and
thrown away each year.
Since plastics takes centuries to decompose, we want to increase the recycled plastic bottles by creating a
product from it. Seeing that people also use ballpens in their daily lives, it would offer another solution than
leaving plastic bottles in landfills or incinerating the plastic bottles.

Ballpoint pen is made of plastic bottles that are recycled which can reduce the waste of plastic bottles. It
writes smoothly on any paper and the ink can also be refilled when it runs out.

Eco-Friendly Banana Face Mask

Today, sheet face masks are used for a routine to make our skin healthy. The skin care product did help
improve and keep our skin healthy, but there are face masks that are a combination of aluminum and plastic
which cannot be recycled and can also increase pollution due to its single use. Since sheet face masks cannot
be recycled and it is non-biodegradable, it can be harmful to the environment.

The Philippines is an ideal place to grow food crops such as rice, vegetables, and fruits. However, despite
the numbers of food crops produced, food wastes are high in amount after the postharvest. In private and
public markets, a number of fruits and vegetables are thrown away when it won’t sell to the customers.

For these reasons, we want to reduce food waste by using fruits and vegetables to create a face mask. It is
a much more natural and friendly way to prevent food wastes from increasing and it is not harmful to the
environment. The eco-friendly face mask is made of wasted fruits and vegetables such as bananas that can
be found in markets. It is a type of mask that can be applied by the user on their skin based on the amount
that they want to put. It gives benefits to the user’s skin when applied: it reduces wrinkles; brightens up the
skin; it can be a moisturizer; and help fade acne scars.
