Q.1 Why are two reports submitted by Jennifer and Mike so different? Did Jennifer and Mike
have different perceptions of the same incident?
Ans. Two reports submitted, one is submitted by Jennifer who is Transportation Director for the City
Transit Authority (CTA) and another one submitted by Michael who is Bus Driver is so different because
of the following sense.
The report submitted by Jennifer Shows that the past behavior of Mike in her company.
The report submitted by Jennifer is on the basis of her past experience, halo effect,
stereotyping, contrast effect, impression. So, her report is not actually how the accident occurs.
Report of Jenifer shows that her report only focused on past experience and performance of driver
from past 15 months, in this case, she thought only internal factors of drivers is the reason for the
accident. But the report of Mike describes how the accident happen to him and that how the
internal factors are reasonable for an accident.
Report of Jenifer describe that driver is one regular drunker, he is suspended from his job which is
internal factor shows that her past experience of Jennifer. But the report submitted by Mikes he
wants to convince that the accident happens by the external environment.
Yes, Both Jennifer and Mike have had different perceptions of the same incident.
Q.2 What additional information would you need if you were in Aaron Moore’s position?
How can he clarify his own perception of the incident?
Ans. If I were in Aaron Moore's position, I want the following information to carry the situation.
There are two different reports. I want to try my best to find out which report is right or which is
wrong on the basis of my analysis.
I want to analysis another report of the same case which helps me find out actual reason of the
bus accident and also same kind of Police Case Report to analysis my situation which will help
me to find out the reason of the accident.
I want to find out the audience reaction from those who were there at the time of the accident.
I want to find out other bus drivers' reaction or opinion about the bus accident.
I want to find out passengers’ opinion who were travelling in that bus.
I want to find out driver's behavior and his attribution.
I think Aaron Moore should find out the truth by himself and the with the above mention points
Aaron Moore can clarify his own perception.
Q.3 Given the information presented above, how would you have recommended resolving this
problem?
Ans. In This case, I want to recommend few resolving points by the following way.
Firstly, collect more information which supports to solve the problem.
I will try to solve the problem of my company which makes the driver behave like this.
I will try to convince the driver to perform his behavior in a normal way.
I will try solving the situation by proper communication, if there is a communication gap
between any aspects. So, I should make better communication between different aspects.
Lastly, I will try my best to familiarize the job.
Q.4 Can transportation director Jennifer Tye use impression management? What strategy
would she use if her recommendation is accepted? If her recommendation is overruled?
Ans. Yes, Jennifer can make an attempt to use impression management to set an impression of Mike in
the minds of newly hired Aaron.
If Jennifer is successful in putting a negative impression of Mike in the minds of Aaron, she would
further go on to prove that all facts presented in her report is correct and Mike has violated 2 sections
of the CTA Transportation Agreement and thus strict steps needs to be taken against Mike.
Now if her recommendation gets overruled, she might think of some other ways by which she can prove
that Mike is guilty and that the report submitted by Mike is baseless.
