The Bill of Rights of Filipinos


1. What rights are guaranteed as a citizen and which are important to
you?
ANSWER: There are many rights guaranteed to Filipino citizens such as Natural Rights,
Constitutional Rights, Civil Rights, Statutory Rights, Economic Rights, and
Political Rights. As a Filipino citizen the rights that is important to me is the Natural
Rights of each individual because gives people joy and harmony in their live. If we
don’t have this, life would be meaningless and unhappy, it seems to be living just for
the country and not for ourselves.

2. What responsibilities comes with your rights?


ANSWER: The different rights comes with different responsibilities as a Filipino citizen, and
these are as follows:
a. To be loyal to the Republic and to honor the Philippine flag
b. To defend the State and contribute to its development and welfare
c. To uphold the Constitution and obey the laws
d. To cooperate with the duly constituted authorities in the attainment and preservation
of a just and orderly society.
e. To engage in gainful work to assure himself and his family a life worthy of human
dignity
f. To register and vote.

3. At what point does the common good of society limit your rights?
ANSWER: I think, everything that would be a common good of the society limits every rights of
Filipinos. It is because we, the citizens always sacrifices our rights for the
betterment of our society. Just like what is happening in the present in which a lot
of establishments were left no choice but to be closed due to the pandemic,
their rights to sell were limited for the common good. The workers in the
establishments became unemployed, and there rights to work was again limited.

4. Do you think you are a responsible citizen? If so, why? If not, why?
ANSWER: Being a responsible citizen needs to be law abiding citizen. Therefore, in my 18
years of existence, I can say that I am a responsible citizen because I live to do
things that I wanted to without violating any rule and law that the government has set.

1. List three possible criteria you would use to describe a responsible citizen.
1. A law abiding citizen.
2. Gives respect to fellow citizen
3. Gives respect to the country

2. Explain one (1) reason why being a responsible citizen is necessary to live in a free society.

Criteria 1: Gives respect to the country

Reason: Laws exist to protect citizens, the communities they live in and their property. So to be a
responsible citizen, we must respect these laws and abide by them.A free society depends most on
the active participation of its citizens and their commitment to that respect. A free society shouldn’t
depend on force or coercion to enforce rules and restrictions on its members. In fact, the use of force
is anathema in a fee society.
