Seasons and Weather
China is the fourth biggest country in the
world, only slightly smaller than the US;
the climate in the south and north differs
hugely.
In the south, it is subtropical and the land
is fertile and green. In the northern winter,
the temperature rarely rises above freezing,
and basketball courts are turned into ice-
skating rinks.

By using these two little words around a variety
of adjectives you can exclaim about things.
tài rè le!
tài hǎo le!
tài lěng le!
tài dà le!
What’s the weather like?
tiān qì zěn me yàng?
Weather is cold!
tiān qì hěn lěng
The weather is very good.
tiān qì hěn hǎo.
It’s hot today.
jīntiān hěn rè.
