Lil Dicky's Earth: A Call to Action

The document discusses Lil Dicky's song "EARTH", which features various artists promoting environmental awareness. It notes that while the song's lyrics were too explicit for some audiences, its message encourages protecting the planet we share with other species. It expresses sadness over ongoing environmental destruction and calls out humanity's inability to properly care for the Earth, despite our intelligence, arguing we must save the planet not just for ourselves but for all living things. The summary concludes by saying Lil Dicky and Leonardo DiCaprio have begun raising awareness and calls on others to follow in their own small ways.

"EARTH: Time to wake up, dude.

"

Alright, so this is one of the funniest song-for-a-cause I've heard in my existence so far; and I believe it
also suits if I write all my points this way--just free. First of all, this song was written by David Burd or also
famously known as Lil Dicky. The name rings a bell in the rap/rnb industry. For those who don't know
him yet, he writes his songs with comedic lyrics, just like this one. And to be honest, the original track
contains words that would absolutely cancel this from playing in school radios. But I still love it. And
here's why.

If you still remember the song "We are the World" where famous singers joined forces to promote peace
and love, Lil Dicky's "EARTH" plays quite similar. It's also one song sung by all our beloved foreign
singers/artists today. Obviously, it's about promoting environment awareness and the beauty of having
each other---and when I say each other, I mean every living creature in this blue spherical shelter. All the
animals were there to tell us how we are not alonebhuman species, that we are sharing this world with
them. Since we are the intelligent ones on the top of the chain, all of them are counting on us. As the
man with so much capabilities, we are expected to prevent our home from burning down to waste.
Which is definitely saddening. When the lyrics said, "I'm a man...I've trudged the Earth for so damn long
and still don't know shit...we still don't know how to act." It hits me right in my temporal lobe. Maybe
that's too much to say but what I mean is, Lil Dicky's actually correct. We are the smartest ones but we
are the dumbest in taking care of the only world that keeps us breathing. What do we expect of these
animals and plants and microorganisms we are existing with? They live in our favor. And the only good
part we can do is protect and foster this previlige. They are not the ones to save us. We are. It's just a
shame since it's actually not happening the way it should be. It's otherwise. The amazon forest, the
antarctic glaciers, the almost plastic-filled parts of the oceans---so saddening. We have invented
weapons that kill in an instant but can't invent a "weapon" to promote life on earth. We sewed beautiful
clothes to dance with the styles of the generation but can't sew a plan to keep our nature constantly up.
Hatred and division is so palpable I could taste them whenever I watch news. This song just makes me
realize how ignorant we are (still). After all the eons that have gone by, we're still stuck here
deconstructing our environment for the hope of a much plain and pale surrounding.

We have to save our planet, not just for ourselves but also for the other species we are existing with.
Even if America, China and Russia have so much money to send people to the space and study other
possible planets where we could live in the next hundred years, this is still our planet, mate. The original
one. The first ever. The only one for free.

Lil Dicky and Leonardo De Caprio already started it. Let's follow even in our own little ways. Spread
awareness. Spread care. Spread love. It's time to wake up, dude. Love Earth.
