Functional Group Tests for Class 12

This chemistry lab manual provides procedures and observations for identifying functional groups in compounds including: 1) Tests to determine if a compound is saturated or unsaturated using bromine water and alkaline KMnO4 solution. 2) A series of tests to identify alcohol, phenol, aldehyde, ketone, and carboxylic acid groups based on color changes from reagents like Schiff's reagent and Fehling's solution. 3) Instructions to record the results of the tests to determine the functional group(s) present in a given compound.
