INTRODUCTION
This document aims at defining overall software requirement for EXAMINATION RESULT
MANAGEMENT SYSTEM. Effort have been made to define the requirements exhaustively and
accurately. The final product will be having only features/functionalities mentioned in this
document and assumptions for any additional functionality/feature should not be made by any of
the parties involved in developing/testing/implementing/using this product.
PURPOSE
This specification document describes the capabilities that will be provided by the software
application EXAMINATION RESULT MANAGEMENT SYSTEM. It also states the various
constraints by which the system will abide. The intended audience for this document are the
colleges, schools and institutes where the result is required.
SCOPE
The application will manage the information about various students enrolled in this course in
different years and the marks obtained by the various students in various subjects in different
semesters.
The application will greatly, simplify and speed up the result preparation and management
process.
OBJECTIVES
The main objective of the project is to create Examination Result System to store the Roll
Number, Session, Name, Marks, etc. of different students using a linear structure using C
programming.
In this software one can very easily operate the Examination Result System. This application
stand out among all other software in a way that is user friendly and can be modify easily as per
the requirements.
DESCRIPTION
In this project, we have made different modules which make my project more compactable
and user friendly to use. The modules are as following :-
1. THE ADMINISTRATOR LOGIN
The options to the administrator are given to :
A. Add The Details Of New Student
In this function, we are adding the details like Roll Number, Session, Name,
Father’s Name, Phone Number and Marks of student.
B. Search The Details Of Existing Student
In this function, we are searching the record of student by Roll Number of student.
C. Display All The Class Result At One Time
In this function, we are displaying the result of all the class in one format.
D. Delete The Details Of Student
In this function, we are deleting the record of the student by Roll Number of
student.
E. Modify The Details Of Student
In this function, we are modifying the record of the student by Roll Number of
student.
2. THE STUDENT LOGIN
The options to the student has given to :
A. Search The Details Of A Particular Student
In this function, we are searching the record of student by Roll Number of student.
B. View All The Class Result
In this function, we are viewing the record of student at one go in tabular format.
Operating Environment – Hardware and Software
Hardware Requirements :
Processor: Pentium 4 or more for optimum performance
RAM: Recommended 256MB
Hard Disk: Minimum 20GB
Software Requirements :
Operating System - Certified Distribution of WINDOWS
Visual Basic 2005 Express Edition
Database(Backend) - MS Access 2003
CONCLUSION
While developing the system a conscious effort has been made to create and develop a
software package, making use of available tools, techniques and resources – that would generate
a proper System.
While making the system, an eye has been kept on making it as user-friendly, as cost-
effective and as flexible as possible. As such one may hope that the system will be acceptable to
any user and will adequately meet his/her needs.
As in case of any system development processes where there are a number of
shortcomings, there have been some shortcomings in the development of this system also. The
project is still under modification.
Problems In Existing System
As we know manual system are quite tedious, time consuming and less efficient and accurate in
comparison to the computerized system.
So following are some disadvantages of the old system:
1. Time consuming
2. Less accurate
3. Less efficient
4. Lot of paper work
5. Slow data processing
6. Not user friendly environment
7. Difficult to keep old records
