Eating on the Go
It’s actually easier than you think to make good choices at a fast-food
restaurant or even the school canteen. Most canteens and fast-food places offer
healthy choices that are also tasty. It can be easy to eat well, even on the run. If
you develop the skills to make healthy choices now, your body will thank you later.
Not only will you look better, you will feel better and have more energy. The good
news is you don’t have to eat perfectly all the time. It’s OK to have a dessert or
snack or even some crisps every once in a while, as long as your daily food choices
are generally good.
Here are some pointers to remember that can help you make better, healthier
choices when eating on the go:
Go for balance. Choose meals that have proteins (like fish, chicken, or beans
if you’re a vegetarian), fruits and vegetables and whole-grain breads.
Watch serving sizes. The serving sizes in restaurants have increased over
the past few years and we are now eating much more than we need. Most
restaurant portions are larger than the average serving of food at home. You
can ask for half portions, share a main course with a friend, or take half of
your meal home.
Drink water or low-fat milk. Milk has calcium and vitamins that everyone
needs every day. Also, it is important for people to drink 8 glasses of water
each day.

When you choose your clothes you should remember that how you dress and what
you wear are very important. Your body language and the clothes you wear make
93% of a first impression and, of course, you want to make a good impression.
(2) ___________
When you go shopping, think about what you want to buy before you leave the
house. You shouldn’t just buy something because you like it. You should also decide
when you could wear it.
(3) ___________
When you go to work, don’t wear the same clothes as you do at home. For every
situation there are the right clothes and the wrong ones. For an interview, you
should wear a suit or a smart skirt. For a party, you can wear jeans and a T-shirt.
(4) __________
Of course the weather also influences the clothes we wear. Remember that boots
and a jacket are great when it’s snowy, but not a good idea when it’s lovely and hot.
(5) __________
How do you choose what to wear? Sometimes people wear the same clothes as their
