Frequency Division Multiplexing Overview

Frequency division multiplexing (FDM) is an analog multiplexing technique that combines multiple analog signals by assigning each signal a different carrier frequency. The modulated signals are then combined into a single composite signal that is transmitted. At the receiving end, the composite signal is demultiplexed by filtering each channel into its original frequency band to recover the separate signals.
