HEAD Tip: If you cant
find the polygon

tool, right click
1. Create new document: 600 px X 600 px
on the tool with
2. Head: Use the Polygon tool, click anywhere. Enter 3 corners

4. Click on shape and Warp: effect (top menu bar) > warp > arc upper use these
measurements: Bend: 50% Horizontal and Vertical: 0%
5. Copy shape, paste it behind first shape(Control C then Control B) change colour of
shape to a lighter colour. Place shapes together like so
6. Go to the Appearance panel (right side): click on existing effect (arc
upper). When dialogue box appears Use drop down menu to select
bulge, change bend to 70% and select vertical. Place new shape
behind first shape to create head like this example >>
7. Using same colour as the shape you just made. create an oval
(ellipse tool). Press Shift-C then use the cursor to click on the right
and left anchor point. Effect > Warp > Arc - horizontal, bend = 25%.
Place new shape behind head like so >>
8. Create 3 black circles using ellipse tool (2 eyes, 1 nose) Tip: hold down
shift when using the tool to create a perfect circle shape, copy and paste to create the
second eye and nose.
9. Left Ear: Create a triangle (use polygon tool, like in step 2) 50px radius this time. Make it
the same colour as the main head. Add Effect: Effect>warp>bulge select Vertical, make
bend=30%, H= minus 50%, V= minus 30%.
10. Copy and paste the ear shape, make it smaller and darker and place
it inside.
11. Right Ear: following step 9 again, but for the bulge measurements
use Vertical, Bend=30%, H= 50%, V= -30%. Repeat step 10.
12. Select inside/outside of ear, right click > Group. Do this to both ears.
Place above head. Right click on ear > arrange > send to back.


Body
1. Draw a triangle using the polygon tool: 100px radius and change to
desired colour. Make the point face down and apply effect (Effect >
Warp > Bulge) use these measurements: Select Vertical, bend = 35%,
H= 0, V = 26%
2. Make another triangle using the polygon tool: 100px radius and change
to desired colour. apply effect (Effect > Warp > Bulge) use these
measurements: Select Vertical, bend = 75%, H= 0, V = minus 50%
3. Attach the body and head like this example >> Tip: right click on the shape
> arrange > send back to put the parts in place.





Paws and Legs
1. Make an oval with the Ellipse tool, make same colour as the head. Apply a
warp option (Effect > Warp > Arc) with the measurements: select vertical,
Bend = 40%, H = 0%, V = minus 20%. Next, select the shape and expand it
(object (top menu bar) > expand appearance).
2. Paw: draw an oval (make a brown colour). Press Shift-C and click on
the points at the top and bottom of the oval to create this shape >>
3. Copy (Ctrl-C) and Paste (Ctrl-V) this shape two more times and place
them next to each other to create this shape >>
4. Go to Window > Pathfinder. This will bring another
window in the side panel. Select all three shapes and click
on the Unite button under the pathfinder panel. This will
make it easier to move them. Copy and paste this shape
again so you have two.
5. Select the arm shape that was created before, and put the
brown paw on the tip of that shape (like the example on
the left). Now select the leg (orange shape) and make a
copy (click cntrl-C then cntrl-F so it pastes in front). Holding
the shift key, select the brown shape as well. Now, select
the intersect button (you will find this under the pathfinder
panel, like in the example above. The intersect button is
two buttons over from unite). Now select both shapes,
right click and Group.
6. Cntrl-C and cntrl-V so you have two legs. Right click on one
of the legs. Select Transform > Reflect and make sure the
measurements are on vertical and 90. Now you have two
arms and can place them on your fox like the example >>
7. place the legs in their correct spot. Select one of the legs and
press ctrl and [ together to send it back. Keep pressing these
until it is inbetween the neck fur and body like the example
picture. Now repeat for the second leg.


WELL DONE!
Now print your fox and stick it in your folio!
