THIS DESIGN CALCULATION WAS CARRIED OUT IN ACCORDANCE WITH ABS
(NO 1CE) RULE FOR WET TYPE KEYLESS BORE PROPELLER.
2. CALCULATION ACCORDING TO NUMERICAL ANALYSIS METHOD
THE DESIGN SHOULD BE COMPLIED WITH FACTOR OF SAFETY, TWO POINT
EIGHT (2.8) TIMES.
THE FACTOR OF SAFETY SHALL BE GIVEN AT FULL POWER AGAINST SLI-
PPING OF THE PROPELLER BOSS ON THE SHAFT FOR AHEAD CONDITION AT

1. Preface
The HD nut is o high pressure oi! hydraulic nut used
to push up a propeller or other objects easily.
2. Specification
Moximum pressure Please see specification of HD nut
Moximum stroke Please see specification of HD nut
Pipe thread 3/8" pipe thread
Available oil DTE oi! light(Mobil) or equivalen
3. Treatment
Treat HD nut as follows
(Please refer to item number in drawing of Page 8/8)
3-1) Set loading ring(2) at position
Push loading ring(2) as surface of loading ring
coincides with surface of nut body(1).
3-2) Air vent
Turn HD nut until the two plugs(7) are ina
vertical line, and then remove the two plugs(7)
Connect oi! pump to the lower plug hole ond
operate it until oil comes out from the upper plug
hole. Then shut the two plug holes again with the
two plugs(7) screw part of which should be rolled
by tape seal.

lf HD is set at vertical position, oir vent(item3-2)
con be carried out at this step.
3-4) Connect oi! pump
Remove one of two plugs and connect the oi! pump
to the plug hole, and tighten the other plug.
3-5) Operate the oi! pump
Please see instruction manual for oi! pump
3-6) Carry out push-up
3-7) Stop operation of the oi! pump
Open valve of oi! pump the drop oi! pressure to
zero.
3-8) Remove the oil pump
Remove the oi! pump and screw the plug(7), screw
port of which should be rolled by tape seal.
3-9) Drive HD nut to tighten
Insert an iron bor into holes machined around nut
body(1) and drive HD nut until nut surface is a
attached to surface of the object.
Special equipment to tighten HD nut can be used if
necessary.
3-10) Lock the HD nut

Replocemrnt of Seal Part
If seal part of loading ring is damaged, replace it as
follows.
4-1) Remove two plugs(7)
Remove two plugs at vertical position, and vent
oil from the HD nut.
4-2) Remove the loading ring.
Loy the nut body(1) in order that the loading
rings(2) will be in on up position. Screw 4
eyebolts into holes machined on surface of loading
ring(2) and lift the loading ring(2) too
vertical drection keeping horizontal position.
4-3) Replace damaged seal
Replace damaged “O" ring(3), (5) or Back-up ring
(4), (6) set in loading ring(2)

[0Inspection for Abnormal Con
Pay ottention to the following points in case the oil
pressure does not rise to the required pressure.
5-1) Check whether amount of oi! in the tonk for oi
pump is sufficient or not.
If it is not sufficient, fill oil to the required level
5-2) Check whether there is oi! leakage from the
connected parts or not.
If oil leckage is found, tighten the connections.
If oil leckage does not stop, replace tape seal of
screw part.
5-3) Check whether there is oil leckage from loading
or nut.
If oi! leckage from loading ring is found, replace
the seal parts following the instructions shown in
item 4
5-4) Check whether oi! pump is normal or not check oi
pump according to instruction manuc! of oi! pump
5-5) Check whether the pressure gouge is normal or not

J5. General Remark
6-1) Tighten all connection parts.
6-2) Be sure to use the loading ring within the stroke
with is shown in specification of HD nut.
6-3) During transporation, lock the loading ring(2) by
the stopper(8).
6-4) Apply new prescribed oil.
6-5) As spare seal part is product of rubber and resin,
therefore exposure to sunshine and dampness should
be avoided.

HOW 10 OPERATE
* Open the air valve (Code no.5)
* Connect 3/8" high pressure hose to the ram with quick coupler
* Turm clockwise the operation valve handle (Code no.4) and close it
» Pump the operation lever (Code no.3) in order to build up pressure
and advance the ram pluhger
» The plunger retracts by turning the operation valve handle

CAUTIONS:
AIR VALVE
* Open the air valve when in use, but close it when not used
RELIEF VALVE
The high pressure relief valve is set at 1000kg/ci. Counter - clockwise
rotation of the adjusting screw (Code no.1) reduces pressure. The low pressure
relief valve is factory-set at 20kg/c. It this valve is turmed
rashly clockwise, it would be difficult to pump even under
no-load.
PUMP'S POSITION - The pump close not work if it is
placed in such a position as illustrated,
keep the pump body down ward or horizantal,
otherwise the ram pluhger does not advance.
HOW 10 FEED OIL - When the pump is connected to the ram with high pressure
hose, first return the oil to the reservoir and arrest the pump upside down
Then take out the feed plug and feed oi! up to the specific graduation.
