2. Introduction of Competency Portal
The 5G Innovation Hackathon is an intensive six-month program designed to engage participants in
developing innovative prototypes that leverage 5G technology. Through funding, mentorship, and
access to 5G Use Case Labs, the program aims to deliver solutions aligned with societal and
industrial needs. Participants will receive additional support for commercialization, including
Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) assistance and startup funding under the Telecom Technology
Development Fund (TTDF) scheme.
3. Pre-requisite / Pre-conditions
The user should be a registered user of portal.
The user should have access to registered mobile number / email to reset the password.
4. 5G Innovation Hackathon–
4.1 Participant Registration
Step 1 - Go to the 5G Hackathon application and click on the “Applicant Registration” button
Step 2 – The participant registration screen will be displayed.

Step 3 – Select and enter the required details such as Applicant Category, Subcategory,
Participating 5G Use Case Labs, Basic Details and validate the email and mobile number on
the registration screen.

Step 4 – Click on the Submit button

Step 5 – Upon successful registration, a pop-up screen will display: “Your registration is
complete.” By clicking the OK button, you will be redirected to the login screen to log in.

4.2 Participant Login
Step 1 - Go to the 5G Hackathon application and click on the “Login” button
Step 2 – The participant login screen will be displayed.

Step 3 – On the Participant Login screen, there will be two login options: Sign in with Jan
Parichay and Sign in with a mobile number.
Step 4 – If the participant already has an account with Jan Parichay, they can click on the Jan
Parichay option. The Jan Parichay login screen will open, where they need to enter the
required credentials and complete the validation. Upon successful login, the participant will
be redirected to the Participant logged-in screen.

Step 5 – Otherwise, click on Sign in with a mobile number. Enter the mobile number and
verify it using an OTP. Upon successful verification, the participant will be redirected to the
Participant logged in screen.

4.3 Proposal Submission
Step 1 – Upon successful login, the applicant ‘Profile’ page will be loaded
Step 2 – Click on either ‘Applications’ or ‘View 5G Hackathon 2026’

Step 3 – The Applications screen will be displayed

Step 6 – The team members may be added to the proposal, if available. All added members
will be displayed in the list.
Note: The applicant submitting the proposal will by default be designated as the Application
Team Lead. For users added as team members, an acceptance request will be sent to the selected
individuals. These members must log into the portal to either accept or reject their assignment to
the selected proposal.

Step 7 – Select the Technological Focus Area from the dropdown.

Step 10 – Enter the proposal brief (maximum 500 characters allowed)

Step 11 – Click on the Upload button and upload the Proposal Document

Step 12 – By clicking “Save as Draft,” the applicant can save the completed proposal as a draft

Step 13 – Click the “Submit” button to submit the proposal.

Step 14 – On the confirmation pop-up, click “Yes” to submit the proposal.
Step 15 – The submitted proposal will appear in the “My Applications” list. The applicant can
view the proposal by clicking on view proposal icon.

Step 16– The submitted proposal will appear in the “My Applications” list. The applicant can
view the response of team members by clicking on View Team Response icon.
4.4 Team Member Action on Assigned Proposal

Step 4 – Go to the “Assigned Applications (Team Member)” section.
Note: All submitted proposals in which the logged-in applicant has been assigned (added) as a
team member will be displayed here.
Step 6 – The applicant can view the proposal by clicking on view proposal icon.

Step 5 – Take-action on the proposal to which the applicant has been assigned as a team
member. Click the “Accept” icon to accept the request or click “Reject” to decline it.

Accept: Click the “Accept” icon. In the confirmation pop-up, click “Yes, Accept” to accept the
application.

Reject: Click the “Reject” icon. Enter the remark and click on the Next button. In the
confirmation pop-up, click “Yes, Reject” to accept the application.
