VDR-S PRO is the latest development in the Digital Security Technology.

The Alnet VDR-S system is specifically

designed for video image recording and remote viewing. VDR-S PRO system is available in four different versions: 4,
8, 12 and 16 channels. The 4, 8 and 12 channels versions are upgradeable to 16 channels. Video inputs are in groups
of 4 or 8 on each video capture card. Single video capture card can process from 25 to 100 frames per second in PAL
and 30 to 120 frames per second in NTSC. Picture parameters (key frames, color, saturation, quality etc) can be
specified manually by the user with individual settings for each camera.

VDR-S PRO Main screen

Video recording, motion detection and alarm signal inputs
are activated or scheduled in the main screen. Motion
detection parameters can be set independently for each
camera. Alnet VDR-S motion detection feature significantly
decreases the amount of hard disk space required for
video archives. Some areas can be excluded from motion
detection altogether. The user can select the area of
interest, where motion will be detected and exclude the
rest using our industry unique picture-masking tool. This
feature also allows the user to ignore effects of tree
movement, clouds, rain and small animals.

4 alarm inputs and 4 relays are integrated on a single

video capture card. These features allow for extended
system functionality to control and process: receiving
alarm signals from several different kinds of sensors and
remote control of different types of electrical devices such
VDR-S scheduled events screen
as: lights, gates, and appliances. These alarm inputs and
relays can be programmed as scheduled events.

Alnet VDR-S PRO system allows the USB joystick, mouse

or keyboard control of a PTZ dome camera, either locally
on the server or from remote location through LAN or the
Internet. Additionally, the path of the PTZ dome can be
programmed with several preset positions.

Alnet VDR-S Scheduler enables the automatic notification

of an event. Upon alarm being triggered, the user can be
instantly notified of the event by email (with optional
screenshot attached). It only takes a few simple mouse
clicks to enable the motion detection feature alert or an
alarm input signal alert.

Alnet VDR-S Video Archives screen has the most user
friendly interface within the industry. The time chart
feature, which can be divided into one second Video archives screen
increments, allows easy and instant access to recorded
video footage. It allows searching for any detected activity
in selected area. This useful feature, not available in older
or less advanced systems comes as standard in Alnet
VDR-S. The search is as easy as selecting the desired
date from the calendar, time and activity areas.
The VDR-S system will display all frames where the
activity was detected. Using an analog VCR to do the
same it would require an operator to fast forward a
number of videotapes, which is time consuming and lacks
the efficiency of our system. What could take hours using
traditional methods, can be done in seconds using Alnet
VDR-S. Any frame on the VDR-S archive system can be
bookmarked for future viewing. This feature allows fast
browsing of the archives, jumping from one bookmark to
another and immediate access to bookmarked events.
Remote browsing of the archives feature is also
implemented in our free VDR-C client application. We VDR-S PRO camera settings screen
have added a backup feature which allows creating movie
files from the archives and copying them to other media
(HDD, CD-R/CD-RW, DVD)
Our video stream is compressed using the unique
differential compression algorithm developed by Alnet
Systems. This special method minimizes the size of a
single frame of the video and allows recording up to 90
days of footage from 16 different cameras at 5 frames per
second per camera on a 60GB hard drive.

Mobile VDR-C client application

VDR-C client software screen
Our Mobile Client software provides easy and simple
access to video archives from the server using the mobile
phone network. The archives or live vision can be viewed
from any location in the world in full color on the screen of
the mobile device.
Alnet's VDR-S software uses an industry unique
differential compression algorithm. This compression
makes VDR-S an optimal video streaming solution for low
bandwidth connections like modem dial-up or GPRS.
VDR-S is available for Windows 2000 and Windows XP
only, the VDR-C application is fully compatible with
Windows 9x/Me/NT/2000/XP, Pocket PC (PDA) and
Symbian and Java used in Nokia phones series 60 & 40.
Please, visit frequently our website for newly supported
PDA devices and cell phones.

Mobile VDR-C for Alnet’s Mobile VDR-C client software for the Pocket PC contains most of the
Nokia cell phones functionality found in our VDR-C PC client (PTZ dome control, relays, alarm inputs,
remote archive view). The Mobile VDR-C client allows remote surveillance using
the mobile phone from any place in the world without the need for a computer with
internet connection.
The Mobile VDR-C version could be specifically useful for security guards. The
guard equipped with the mobile phone or PDA would be able to check the
perimeter before actually entering the Alnet VDR-S protected premises. This
solution would benefit both the owner of the premises (less security officers to
employ and consecutively lower cost) and the security company (safer working
environment for guards).

Example system configuration
