Challenges in Pakistan's Textile Exports

The textile industry in Pakistan has seen declining exports over the last 5-6 years. A major challenge is non-tariff barriers like ISO 9000 and ISO 14000 quality standards, which place greater focus on packaging, safety, and handling of textile goods for export. Meeting these standards could help reverse the declining export trend in Pakistan's largest industry sector.
