Second Conditional
A second conditional sentence describes future events that are imaginary, unlikely or
impossible.
Construction of the second conditional:
If + past simple, (then) would + infinitive without to
OR
would + infinitive without to, if + past simple
See the example:
If you worked harder, you would earn more money.
You would earn more money, if you worked harder.
Note that would is normally abbreviated in speech.
Id be happier if I could see him more often.
Eg: If I saw her, I would invite her to the party.
If he had money, he would buy that book.
If it rained, I probably wouldnt go out.
If it was sunny, I would go for a walk on the beach.
If he read the newspaper more often, he would know more about the accident.
She would understand the truth, if she read the article.
