The Max Planck Institute of Molecular Cell Biology and Genetics (MPI-CBG) is seeking a Student Helper (m/f/d) in the field of culture and integration for 10 hours per week, initially for a period of 6 months. In this role, you will work closely with colleagues from our International Office (IO), Human Resources (HR), and Media Technologies and Outreach (MTO) teams. You will have the opportunity to establish valuable connections across different areas of the institute and develop skills in communication and cross-cultural engagement in a research environment. Together, we will provide our international employees and guests with practical information and cultural insights that help them feel at home in Dresden. This position offers room for creativity and the chance to develop new projects with your own ideas —improving existing materials, creating innovative outreach formats, or highlighting hidden cultural gems. 

Your responsibilities

  • Research and compile offers and information related to culture and integration for an international audience, leading to a weekly blog/newsletter 
  • Create and update existing flyers on topics such as registering with the employment office, exchanging driver's licenses, naturalization, doctor visits, etc.
  • Assist in graphically representing contact points and policies for better comprehension
  • Update lists of doctors and contacts relevant to international employees

Your profile

  • Enrolment at a German university
  • Good knowledge of written and spoken German and English 
  • Passion and curiosity for current local cultural offerings and strong communication skills in an international environment
  • Confident use of MS Office programs and basic knowledge of graphic design tools and web content management systems (CMS)
  • Flexibility, reliability and an independent working style
