NGDRS to be Implemented for Delhi Property Registrations from Jan 2025

The Property Registration Department of Delhi has decided to implement the National Generic Document Registration System (NGDRS) for the registration of all properties in the city. The authority has taken this initiative to streamline the entire property registration process for homebuyers. The new property registration system will be implemented from January 2025.

As per the officials, the new system of property registration in Delhi will enhance transparency in transactions while reducing the possibility of any fraudulent activities. The officials have confirmed that the NGDRS System has already been implemented to about 22 sub registrar offices. Also, about 231,000 properties have been registered under the new system.

The authority will introduce an online property registration portal for Delhi. With this platform in place, property buyers need not visit the sub registrar’s office multiple times. The new portal will enable them to complete various online tasks with ease.
