Summary

Assessing hotel technology for service operations means reviewing and selecting digital tools that help hotels manage guest services, automate routine tasks, and streamline daily operations. This approach focuses on finding solutions that truly improve workflow efficiency and guest experience without overwhelming staff or increasing complexity.

  • Prioritize usability: Look for systems your team can learn quickly and use every day, rather than those packed with features you don’t need.
  • Focus on integration: Choose technology that connects smoothly with your existing tools and workflows to reduce confusion and training time.
  • Automate routine tasks: Use digital platforms to handle repetitive chores like pricing updates or guest messaging so your staff can spend more time with guests.

Over the past two months, we’ve been running an important case study at Ramada Corniche Abu Dhabi in partnership with Touch Menu — exploring the adoption of an advanced OMS and Digital Concierge. Technology in hospitality must always prove its value in practice, not just in theory. That’s why we approached this project as a trial: to carefully test both the benefits and the potential challenges of introducing a digital concierge platform into our daily operations. The results have been encouraging. • 📊 Advanced data analytics now give us clearer visibility into guest behavior, operational needs, and areas requiring improvement. • 🤝 Teams can focus more precisely on where service gaps exist, rather than relying solely on manual reporting or assumptions. • ⚡ Processes that once took hours can now be streamlined, freeing more time for what truly matters — human-centered hospitality. Of course, every innovation comes with a learning curve. But this case study confirmed that when implemented thoughtfully, digital tools don’t replace our people — they empower them. This is just one step in our ongoing journey to align technology with purpose. Hospitality will always be about people, but people equipped with the right tools can deliver service that is smarter, faster, and more personal. Here is the article with more details➡️

The best hotel system is not the one with the most features. It is the one your team can actually use well. I once rejected a platform that was objectively more advanced than the one we kept. More integrations. More automation. More reporting. More everything. After a month, I chose not to proceed. Not because it was broken. Because it was too much for what we actually needed. Every task took longer. Every decision needed more clicks. Every answer came buried inside layers of detail the team did not need to do the job well. That is a problem in hospitality tech. Teams buy systems for the demo, then live with them in reality. A tool can be impressive and still be wrong for the operation. Feature count is not value. Fit is value. The right system does not just do more. It helps the team move faster, think clearer, and make fewer mistakes. Hotels do not need more software. They need less friction. #HotelTechnology #HotelOperations #CommercialStrategy #Hospitality

Under Roberto Pacaccio's P&L leadership, GWT Hotels confronted a familiar set of challenges for small hotel groups: ❌ Fragmented systems ❌ Rising fixed costs ❌ Inconsistent staffing ❌ Limited tolerance for tech that doesn’t integrate cleanly. What made things even worse? 🌉 GWT Hotels operates five independent properties (164 rooms) in San Francisco - an unforgiving environment for inefficiency due to sky high labor costs, unionization and overregulation. Instead of solving problems piecemeal, GWT focused on building a tightly integrated stack that supports centralized decision-making, automation, and repeatable workflows across all five properties. Here's what they been able to accomplish with this approach: ✅ Four of five hotels now operate without a physical front desk, supported by centralized 24/7 operations and digital access workflows ✅ Five PMS platforms consolidated into one, dramatically reducing training time, system friction, and operational inconsistency ✅ Dynamic pricing automated via occupancy-based yield rules, eliminating manual daily rate shopping across the comp set ✅ Lower per-room breakeven through tech-enabled labor restructuring, not service degradation ✅ Vendor selection driven by integration maturity, with PMS as the system of record across locks, messaging, pricing, and accounting The tech that enabled these workflows? 👉 eviivo, RoomPriceGenie, Yext, OpenKey, Salto, ADP, Quickbooks This episode is a practical case study in how independent hotel groups can use modern hotel software to simplify operations, protect margins, and scale discipline...not complexity. 🎧 Full episode with Roberto Pacaccio on the Hotel Tech Insider podcast in the comments. #HotelTechnology #IndependentHotels #HotelOperations #RevenueManagement #HospitalitySoftware

Most hotels are using AI too late and in the wrong places. The race is not about flashy guest-facing tools. It is about operational friction. If AI cannot reduce response time, clean up forecasting, improve rostering, or remove admin from the floor, it is just expensive theatre. The smart operators are not replacing hospitality. They are protecting it. Use AI for the repetitive. Keep humans for judgment, recovery, upselling, and emotional intelligence. One practical signal: Mews reported in 2025 that Atomize’s AI pricing engine was automating pricing for 70% of users through Autopilot after rapid adoption across its hotel base (#Mews, 2025). That is where this gets serious. Not hype. Margin. Also, Deloitte notes the sector is shifting from experimentation toward implementation as operators look for resilience and efficiency, not just novelty (#Deloitte, 2026). AI should not sit in innovation decks. It should sit in housekeeping dispatch, guest messaging, maintenance triage, and revenue control. The winners will not be the hotels with the most AI. They will be the ones with the least wasted motion. Question: Where is AI actually creating value in hospitality today — and where is it pure nonsense? #AI #HOSPITALITY #DEVELOPMEN

Hotels are under pressure. Been awhile to research and Implement. Time is money..... Rising costs, compressed margins, labor shortages, and softer demand are forcing owners and operators to rethink how revenue is created and retained. The reality: Traditional revenue strategies alone are no longer enough. What is working today is a technology-led, automation-first approach that focuses on three core pillars: 1. New Revenue Streams • Upsell and ancillary revenue automation • Dynamic pricing and AI-driven demand forecasting • Digital guest journey monetization (pre-arrival to post-stay) 2. Guest Retention & Experience • Personalization through data and AI • Frictionless check-in, in-room tech, and smart guest services • Loyalty driven by experience—not discounts 3. Cost Optimization Through Automation • Reduced labor dependency without sacrificing service • Smarter operational workflows • Scalable systems that improve margins, not complexity Over the years, I’ve partnered with and implemented proven hospitality technology platforms—from AI and IoT to revenue management and guest experience solutions—that are already delivering measurable results across hotels and portfolios. This is not about “adding tech.” It’s about strategic integration that drives revenue, retention, and resilience—especially during challenging market cycles. If your property or portfolio is navigating revenue pressure and looking for practical, proven strategies, I’m always open to meaningful conversations. The hotels that adapt now will be the ones that lead when the market rebounds. #hospitality #hotels

AI is starting to show measurable results in hospitality — not just experiments. Recent findings from BCG highlight how hotels moving from pilots to real deployment are already seeing tangible gains. AI-driven pricing systems are helping some properties increase RevPAR by up to 15%, while predictive operations tools are improving efficiency across housekeeping, staffing, and resource management. The Ritz-Carlton San Francisco, for example, reported a 20% improvement in room-cleaning speed, and Four Seasons Peninsula Papagayo reduced food waste by 50% using AI-based tracking. At the same time, scaling AI across hospitality still faces structural challenges. Fragmented systems, limited AI talent, and the need for stronger data foundations remain key barriers. The hotels that are moving fastest are those integrating data across PMS, CRM, POS, and loyalty platforms — creating a unified operational view that allows AI to drive real decisions rather than just insights. The industry appears to be entering the next phase of adoption: moving beyond experimentation toward operational impact across revenue management, guest engagement, and property operations: https://lnkd.in/ez2tjCur #Hospitality #HotelTechnology #RevenueManagement #TravelTech
