🎉 Great to conclude an impactful sustainability programs at SEMICON SEA 2026 in Kuala Lumpur.
Over the past three days (May 5 to 7 2026), SEMI Energy Collaborative and Semiconductor Climate Consortium brought together key government stakeholders, industry leaders, and partners to advance practical pathways for semiconductor decarbonisation.
📌 Day 1 | PETRA–SEMI EC Roundtable
It was a privilege to engage in productive dialogue with Malaysia's Ministry of Energy Transition (PETRA), the Energy Commission, and TNB Single Buyer.
We explored practical enhancements to the current CRESS scheme — with a particular focus on System Access Charges (SAC) transparency and cost visibility — to help unlock greater renewable energy adoption across Malaysia. Looking forward to continued progress and a follow-up meetings. Thank you to our EC members and the Baringa team — Zhen-Hui Eng, Evan Ng, and Shawn Ho — for your support and valuable insights in driving this progress together.
📌 Day 2 | SCC & EC Workshop
The session brought together industry leaders, policymakers, and ecosystem partners to move the conversation from ambition to implementation — covering renewable energy procurement, Scope 2 strategies, PCF reporting, supplier engagement, internal carbon pricing (Report: https://bit.ly/3P3lzlX) , and scalable decarbonisation mechanisms across the value chain.
A sincere thank you to TNB Single Buyer and all speakers and industry participants for the depth and quality of engagement.

📌 Day 3 | Sustainability Summit
The semiconductor industry's decarbonisation journey requires more than ambition. It demands clarity, collaboration, credible policy frameworks, and execution at speed and scale. The conversations across the day — spanning energy and emissions, manufacturing efficiency, and regulatory and PFAS-related priorities — reinforced the importance of cross-sector collaboration in building a resilient, future-ready semiconductor ecosystem across Southeast Asia. Special thanks to all speakers and Saifi Usmani HanBin Jane Yeoh So Young Jang Kohei I.
Southeast Asia's semiconductor industry stands at an inflection point. The decisions we make today — on energy transition and decarbonisation — will define the region's competitiveness for decades to come. The path to net zero is not a constraint. It is our greatest industrial opportunity. Thank you to all industry leaders, ecosystem partners, and government stakeholders for your continued collaboration. Much more ground to cover — and we move forward together.
