The Emergency Department of Association hospitalière de Bruxelles - Centre hospitalier universitaire Saint-Pierre is a vital pillar of Brussels’ healthcare landscape. After nearly 30 years of uninterrupted service, this landmark facility is set to undergo a major renovation. TPF is pleased to bring its engineering expertise to this ambitious project and to partner once again with MODULO architects, following our fruitful collaboration on the Institut Roi Albert III (IRA II), the new oncology and hematology centre at the Saint-Luc University Hospital in Brussels. Key highlights of the project include: ▸ A comprehensive transformation and expansion aimed at enhancing medical and surgical care, with a redesigned patient reception area organized around two distinct units: pediatric care and adult care. ▸ Optimized on-site facilities for ambulance services and SMUR teams. The challenge is considerable: delivering facilities that meet a new level of functional, technical, energy-efficiency, and healthcare standards, while ensuring the hospital remains fully operational 24/7. This project marks the first phase of a broader program that will eventually include the renovation of the intensive care unit and the creation of a new coronary angiography department. Contributing to a project of this scale and public importance reflects TPF’s commitment to delivering healthcare infrastructure that meets evolving needs and supports the well-being of the communities it serves. #TPF #HealthcareInfrastructure #EngineeringExcellence #HospitalDesign #CHUSaintPierre

Commissioning is now well advanced, and we’re looking forward to welcoming our first patients on 27 August 2026! Special thanks to our construction partner, Built, for capturing the hospital’s journey on video, documenting the transformation of an empty site into a purpose-built hospital in less than two years.

Our group is expanding to welcome Queen Victoria Hospital We are pleased to announce that, following approval by the Boards of Ashford and St Peter’s Hospitals (ASPH) and Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust (RSFT), our existing group will expand to include Queen Victoria Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (QVH). This important milestone builds on the successful group model already established between ASPH and RSFT, enabling closer collaboration, shared expertise and joint working where this benefits patients, colleagues and communities. QVH’s Board announced in December 2025, following a thorough process, that ASPH and RSFT had been identified as its preferred strategic partner. Since then, teams across all three organisations have worked together to develop the arrangements needed to support this next stage. Queen Victoria Hospital is a leading specialist centre for reconstruction and sleep, internationally recognised for pioneering innovative treatments and techniques. Its specialist clinical teams provide highly specialised surgery and non-surgical treatment for people across the south east and beyond. By working more closely together, the expanded group will bring together the expertise of three NHS organisations. This will create exciting opportunities to share knowledge, strengthen clinical networks, develop our workforce, support research and education, and improve outcomes and experiences for patients across Surrey, Sussex and the wider region. ASPH, RSFT and QVH will remain independent NHS foundation trusts, with their own Boards, leadership, identities and accountability. Like our existing group, this is not a merger. It is about working together where collaboration creates benefits for patients, colleagues and the communities we serve. This week, our Director of Communications, Cara McDonagh, visited Spire Healthcare Group plc's Manchester Hospital alongside Rebecca Harper to meet Jonathan Thewlis and his team and see first-hand how independent providers are supporting both NHS and private patients. The visit included a tour of the new OrthTeam Centre, a state-of-the-art facility bringing together advanced diagnostics and specialist expertise to support elite athletes, people with sports injuries and those living with degenerative and arthritic conditions. The team also showcased Spire Manchester's wider facilities, including its paediatric unit, which is being expanded to meet growing demand, an impressive intensive care unit, the da Vinci 5 robotic-assisted surgical system, a histology laboratory carrying out around 80,000 diagnoses each year, and a hydrotherapy pool supporting patients' rehabilitation and recovery. Visits like these provide a valuable opportunity to see the innovation, expertise and investment taking place across the independent sector, and the important role it plays in delivering high-quality care for NHS and private patients alike. A huge thank you to Jonathan Thewlis, Emma Ashton and everyone at Spire Manchester for such a warm welcome and an insightful visit.

Could reviewing an existing hospital pathway help improve stroke care? 🧠 A transient ischaemic attack (TIA), often called a "mini stroke", can be an early warning sign of future stroke. Ensuring patients receive the right investigations and follow-up is critical to delivering timely, evidence-based care. 💡 Funded through Round 45 of EMF's Queensland Research Program, Redland Hospital ED Radiographer Hope Klinkenberg is leading a quality improvement project to evaluate how the hospital's TIA pathway is being used in practice. By reviewing patient records and surveying clinicians, the project aims to identify opportunities to strengthen pathway adherence, refine clinical practice and support staff education. The findings may help reduce unnecessary imaging and hospital admissions for low-risk patients while supporting more consistent, evidence-based care for people presenting with TIA. Congratulations to Hope, mentor Dr Henry Tsao, and the team at Redland Hospital. 👏 Round 46 of EMF's Queensland Research Program closes on 17 August for Jumpstart, Leading Edge and TranslatED grants & 31 August for Emerge grants. 📌Find out more: https://lnkd.in/gQa7qPYf #EMFResearch #EmergencyMedicineResearch Metro South Health

There are few opportunities to learn directly from the teams that have built one of the world’s most established rural ECPR systems. We’re excited to welcome Dr. Jason Bartos to the Hawaiʻi ECMO Symposium to present: 🌴 Field to Flow: Rural ECPR in Minnesota – How Did We Get Here, and Where Are We Going? Minnesota’s ECPR program has been built through years of collaboration between EMS, referring hospitals, transport teams, emergency departments, cath labs, ICUs, and ECMO specialists. Dr. Bartos will share the evolution of this system, the lessons learned along the way, and the vision for what’s next. More importantly, this session will challenge us to think beyond one program: 🔹 How can these principles be adapted to Hawaiʻi’s unique geography? 🔹 What pieces are transferable to other regional ECMO systems? 🔹 How can collaboration shorten the time from cardiac arrest to ECMO support and improve patient outcomes? Whether you’re involved in prehospital care, emergency medicine, critical care, cardiology, transport medicine, or ECMO, this session will provide practical insights into building systems that save lives. Join us in Honolulu as we bring together leaders from around the world to advance ECMO care through innovation, collaboration, and shared experience. 📅 January 6–8, 2027 📍 ʻAlohilani Resort Waikīkī Beach, Honolulu, Hawaiʻi #ECMO #ECPR #CriticalCare #EmergencyMedicine #Cardiology #PrehospitalCare #RuralMedicine #SystemsOfCare #HEMS #CathLab #ICU #TheQueensHealthSystems #UniversityOfMinnesota #HawaiiECMOSymposium

Our conferences should not end when the final session closes... At Convenzis, we see each conference as part of a continuing programme of development. NHS leaders and front line teams bring real priorities and challenges. Speakers share experience, evidence and new thinking. Trusted partners contribute relevant expertise. The conversations and feedback from each event then help us shape the next programme. This creates an ongoing cycle of learning, connection and collaboration. The testimonial carousel below brings together just some of the strongest feedback we have received from NHS delegates, speakers and sponsors across pathology, radiology, endoscopy, patient flow, digital transformation and many other areas. Different perspectives, but a consistent message: relevant programmes, high-quality discussion, the right people in the room and collaboration that continues beyond the day itself... From #5 to #2 in the world, in just one year! King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre (KFSH&RC) grew its international share of voice by over 400% year-over-year in the first half (H1) of 2026, stepping into the global top 2 among leading academic medical centers - trailing only Mayo Clinic. H1 2026 — international share of voice (excl. Saudi market): 1. Mayo Clinic — 37,000 2. KFSH&RC — 25,000 (+409% YoY) 3. Cleveland Clinic — 24,000 One year ago, we ranked 5th: 1. Mayo Clinic — 37,000 2. Cleveland Clinic — 23,000 3. Charité Berlin — 10,000 4. Mass General — 9,900 5. KFSH&RC — 5,022 6. Karolinska — 2,300 The shift is even sharper in North America, where we climbed to #3 (+487% YoY) with 23,000 mentions — behind only Mayo Clinic and Cleveland Clinic, and ahead of Mass General. This isn't just a media metric. KFSH&RC has always delivered excellent, cutting-edge care, and over the last two years we've been part of a broader transformation toward even more sustainable, patient-centered care; What's changing is that the world is finally hearing about it: about the physicians, the caregivers, and the teams who make it happen every day. The visibility is long overdue. Because the excellence behind it has only kept growing. #HealthcareInnovation #GlobalHealthcare #PatientCenteredCare #KFSHRC #Transformation #MedicalExcellence
