A year of the Koorangie Energy Storage System helping to deliver system reliability.
It’s been one year since the Koorangie Energy Storage System (KESS) began operations. Shell Energy Australia is the principle offtaker for the 185MW/370MWh battery, which delivers essential services through its grid-forming inverter technology. To mark the milestone, myself and Brandon Vowell joined Sosteneo Infrastructure Partners, VicGrid, Tesla Energy and other key project stakeholders at the site this week. The KESS is an important asset in our firming portfolio, alongside gas-peaking power, which is helping deliver reliability to in a rapidly changing energy market.
