🚨 Recruiting Scam Awareness 🚨 A quick reminder for candidates and job seekers: please be cautious of unexpected emails or messages from recruiters, especially from unfamiliar Gmail addresses. Unfortunately, these scams are becoming increasingly sophisticated. Scammers may steal legitimate company information, copy real job postings, and even include LinkedIn links to legitimate recruiters to make the outreach appear authentic. One important thing to remember: legitimate recruiters should be reaching out from their company email address, not a personal Gmail account. If you receive a suspicious message or email, please report it and verify the recruiter and company before providing any personal information. When in doubt, take a few extra minutes to confirm who you’re communicating with. A little caution can go a long way!

These are scams designed to harvest your data and boost engagement not genuine job opportunities!  No professional recruiter or talent acquisition specialist hires candidates this way. No direct application process via an official careers portal Stay safe: Always verify company details, apply through official websites, and never share your personal information publicly. They use the look-alike domain 𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀.𝗱𝗲 (𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗮𝗻 𝗲𝘅𝘁𝗿𝗮 "𝘀") and contact applicants from @univentions .de addresses, sometimes under the names of real Univention colleagues to make it convincing. Please note: ✅ Genuine emails from us ONLY ever come from @𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻.𝗱𝗲 ❌ Any message from univentions .de is fraudulent, don't reply or share any documents A tip that applies to any message, not just ours: check the actual sender address, not just the display name. How many clicks should it take just to read a job description? Today I almost gave away access to my LinkedIn, trying to just read a JD. A recruiter messaged me on LinkedIn and sent me a Talent Acquisition role, allegedly at Uber. To see the details, a quest began: View Document → View with LinkedIn → CAPTCHA → security check → LinkedIn Sign in → verification code. I was so struck by the number of steps that I started taking screenshots for a post about terrible candidate experience. But at the end of the whole process, the code never came. It didn't come to me – it went to scammers. And then I noticed the domain 😱 The post about bad candidate experience turned into a post about how easily recruitment friction can be confused with recruitment phishing. The most ironic part? I'm a recruiter. LinkedIn and hiring platforms are my daily environment. And I still ended up entering my credentials. And one more irony: the password I entered turned out to be wrong, I'd simply forgotten it, and entered an old one 🤣 At which slide would you have suspected phishing?

Please be advised that we do not communicate recruitment opportunities through Gmail accounts. All recruitment activities, including candidate sourcing and job applications, are conducted exclusively through our official Careers Portal. If you receive any email from a Gmail address claiming to be from our Talent Recruitment team: * Do not respond. * Do not click any links or share personal information. * Report the email as spam/phishing and disregard it immediately. We remain committed to protecting our candidates and maintaining a secure recruitment process. Thank you for your vigilance and cooperation.

RECRUITMENT SCAM season seems to be warming up... I've had yet another a day or two after I sniffed out the last. This one was trivial to spot because it was <name>.recuit@gmail.com Yep, "recuit", not "recruit" or "recruitment", but the trend I'm noticing is that instead of in the past when it was always @hotmail.com for scammers it's now @gmail.com because many people simply block @hotmail.com by default. So, WE have been warned... Stay vigilant. Don't pay scammers to put you in contact with recruiters... Genuine recruiters are paid by employers, NOT jobseekers. DON'T EVER RUN ANY SOFTWARE FROM THEM... Double check any so-called tests they want you to do as it WILL BE MALWARE. Always insist before you trust them that they prove provenance. Either through references or more simply by emailing you from the company they purport to be from. ALWAYS CHECK THE SPELLING... I can't believe I'm having to spell this out, none of us are idiots, but there's a lot of desperate people looking for work and a lot of evil scum that will exploit those feeling weak. JOB SEEKERS BEWARE! I received a message from a recruiter named Janette Wendt saying she represents RW&co. She asked for my resume and career index and them went on to tell me I needed to have it professionally re-done (my resume is professionally prepared). I declined and started to ask questions as this seemed like a scam. She then said she would push me through next steps via teams with a person named Alex Morgan - this person then went on about putting me in touch with a Linkedin expert. I asked him if he worked for RW&co and he said no he was prepping me for next steps. I called them both out as they are falsely representing a company and now all sign on them has been removed or deleted. Please be careful when applying for jobs as scammers love to take advantage of vulnerable people. I attached the profile of the person that reached out. its likely not a legit picture but incase you are contacted you will know its a scam.

Please remember that genuine emails from Euro London Appointments will always come from an @eurolondon.com address. We will never ask candidates to pay for recruitment services. Please remain vigilant, verify the sender and report any suspicious messages as phishing.
