Without structure, onboarding is often a headache of forgotten steps, missing documents, and manual follow-ups. When steps are clearly defined and task ownership is assigned, onboarding becomes a predictable process. New people get settled faster, teams spend less time chasing details, and you can break free from constant interruptions.

The boring work is often where the real growth lives. Follow-up, onboarding, offer clarity, and weekly reviews do not always feel exciting. But they are the operating habits that remove chaos and make growth easier to sustain.

Great onboarding is about clarity, not quantity 🧠 New employees don’t need to know everything on day one. They need to understand how things work, what matters, and where they fit 🤝 Context builds confidence. And confidence speeds up integration.

What does onboarding mean to you and what does a good onboarding look like? To me, onboarding isn’t just about day one, it’s about day 10, day 100, and beyond. Too often, businesses think of it as a welcome email, a few intro meetings, maybe a quick training session. But a proper onboarding should be so much more than that. The best experiences don’t just dump a load of information on day one and hope for the best. They encourage real conversations, clarify expectations, and give people the support they need to find their footing. We shouldn't forget that onboarding doesn’t just benefit the new hire, it lifts the entire team. When someone integrates smoothly, they contribute faster, collaborate better, and help build a stronger culture. So if you’re welcoming someone new, think beyond the first week. Because true onboarding is a journey. What’s one thing that made your onboarding experience really great (or really challenging)? Would love to hear your thoughts! 👇 Sarah Bicknell Charlotte Pike Charlotte Bates Elevation Recruitment Group

One of the most rewarding parts of onboarding is seeing new employees move from uncertainty to confidence in their first few weeks. Success starts with more than access and information—it comes from having clear expectations, meaningful support, and genuine connections from day one. When people understand where to focus, know who they can turn to, and feel welcomed into the team, they build momentum faster and contribute with greater confidence. Here at IMG Academy we focus on a thoughtful onboarding experience helps employees feel equipped, supported, and aligned with the bigger picture. We believe when you invest in helping people get started well, they have a foundation for long-term growth, engagement, and success.
