Honored to share a successful transjugular tricuspid valve replacement (TTVR) case presented during the live session at #RiyadhStructuralHeart by the team of Prof. Jörg Hausleiter, Medizinische Klinik und Poliklinik I Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität (LMU) München. The patient was an 81-year-old male with torrential tricuspid regurgitation, permanent atrial fibrillation, severe right heart enlargement, and multiple comorbidities—deemed high risk for conventional surgery. After thorough Heart Team discussion, the procedure was performed using the LuX-Valve Plus system via a transjugular approach. Despite challenging anatomy, the valve was implanted smoothly under TEE guidance, benefiting from the system's septal anchoring, leaflet grasping mechanism, and five-axis steering design. The procedure time was under 40 minutes, with accurate positioning, only trace paravalvular leak (with pre-procedural TR grading being torrential), and no peri-procedural complications. This case highlights the potential of transcatheter solutions in addressing complex tricuspid disease and expands treatment options for high-risk patients.
