One of the highlights of our summer was bringing Support Service Office interns together for a coffee chat with President & CEO, Nitin Jain, and Chief Human Resources Officer, Olga Giovanniello M.Ed, C.Dir.. The conversation covered everything from leadership and career paths to uncertainty, building confidence and the importance of staying curious. One piece of advice especially resonated: Every experience is a good experience. Not because every experience is easy, but because there is always something to learn. We've all been unsure. We've all been nervous. Growth comes from saying yes, asking questions and being willing to try something new. That curiosity was on full display throughout the conversation. True to his "ask anything" approach, Nitin encouraged every intern to ask questions, and make the most of every opportunity to learn. As Canada's population ages, senior living is one of the country's fastest-growing sectors. Our goal is to give future leaders the opportunity to discover just how dynamic and rewarding a career in senior living can be. This cohort of interns has already brought fresh ideas, new perspectives and tremendous energy to teams across Sienna, and we're grateful for the impact they've made this summer.

They are about asking questions, contributing ideas, learning from experienced teammates, and seeing how your work can make a difference. That is the experience we want to create at LucyRx. DEAR INTERN, HOW TO NAVIGATE OFFICE POLITICS AS AN INTERN. Office politics are common in many workplaces. As an intern it's easier to be caught unawares in this day to day office politics. Office politics come in various forms; as gossips, competition, or even disagreement between employees. The most appropriate approach for you as intern is to stay professional, neutral, observant, and focused on learning. 10 WAYS TO NAVIGATE OFFICE POLITICS 1. BE OBSERVANT BEFORE TAKING SIDES. Spend time understanding how people communicate, who makes decisions, and how work gets done. As much as you can avoid joining workplace groups or conflicts. 2. STAY NEUTRAL Do whatever it takes to avoid being pulled into disagreements between employees. You can listen without taking sides. 3. AVOID GOSSIP This is the most dangerous ground to trade on. Avoid discussing colleagues, supervisors, or workplace issues. Many at time casual Information spread rapidly with highest chance of being misunderstood. This can be used against you. 4. BUILD POSITIVE RELATIONSHIPS Respect is paramount, treat everyone with a professional approach—from managers to support staff. Good professional relationships will make your internship more productive. 5. COMMUNICATE PROFESSIONALLY Be clear, respectful, and timely in your communication. When receiving instructions, make sure you understand what is expected of you. 6. KEEP RECORDS OF YOUR WORK Having a track of assignments, deadlines, meetings of your completed tasks is professional. This protects you if there is confusion about who did what. 7. AVOID COMPETITION Demonstrating your abilities respectfully. If possible don't try to outshine employees. Let the quality of your work speak for you. 8. LEARN WHO TO APPROACH FOR HELP Know your supervisor and if possible any other trusted professional who can guide you when you encounter difficulties. Not everyone or anyone. 9. SET BOUNDARIES Boundaries set from the beginning speak for you. Maintain it until the end. You should not accept inappropriate behavior, humiliation, discrimination, or exploitation. Raise serious concerns through the appropriate channels provided to you. 10. PROTECT YOUR REPUTATION Your internship can become a reference for future employment. Be known as someone who is reliable, respectful, hardworking, confidential, and willing to learn. Remember this useful rule Observe/ Understand /Communicate/ Document & Stay professional. #InternationalYouthDay reminds us the young talent and the opportunities that unlock their potential. Through the #CreativeIndustries Internship Programme, implemented by UNDP with UN Volunteers and funded by the Government of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, 100 young people took their first step from education into the world of work. Over four months, they joined architecture studios, design agencies, cultural institutions, festivals, media organizations, and creative businesses across #Kosovo, gaining hands-on experience, building professional networks, and developing the skills and confidence needed to launch their careers. When young people are given the opportunity to learn, create, and grow, they don’t just build careers, they help shape the future of our creative industries.
