Learners from schools in #Poortjie in the #Vaal kicked off the community tier of the #Code4Mandela Challenge. Even with limited resources, learners showed that they have a hunger to learn and be tomorrow's innovators! All that is missing is to be enabled to access STEAM education and resources thereof! The #Code4Mandela Challenge will be running until the 18th of August 2026, there is still a big chance to ensure hundreds of learners exposure to coding and robotics. Get in touch with United Siyafunda NPC for ways to get involved and how to improve access to STEAM education for learners in under resourced schools and communities. #UnitedSiyafunda #STEAM #Code4Mandela #C4M #Tangibles #4IR #EdTech
A Massive Appreciation to PictureNet Africa for donating 80 Tangibles puzzles (R8 000) to this initiative. Yesterday we proudly kicked off Code 4 Africa, an initiative by Leva Foundation and Tangible Africa, facilitated by United Siyafunda, right here in Gauteng. The community stream began in Poortjie, where 100 eager learners joined us to explore coding and innovation. 🚀 Our mission is bold: to reach 2,000 learners across communities by the end of August. A token of appreciation to Nthabiseng Johannah and Kalakgosi Maritz for driving a successful tournament in Poortjie supported by the City of Johannesburg Poortjie Library. It’s not too late to be part of this movement. Your support can help us expand our reach and impact. 💡By donating using this link: https://lnkd.in/dD_EB2PK Jean Greyling and Jackson Tshabalala, we enjoy working with you, Let us keep going.

What if the biggest obstacle to a child's education was... a table? A few weeks ago, I shared that our FREE Paradise School in rural Cambodia is growing faster than we ever imagined. Every afternoon, more and more children arrive after their public school has finished. They come because they want to learn English, computers, and skills that can change their future. The problem is simple. We don't have enough space. The donated tables we have are large party tables—not classroom tables. They take up far too much room, making it impossible to leave our computers set up for the students. So instead of asking, "Where can we buy new furniture?", I asked myself... "What can we build ourselves?" Over the last few weekends, I have been designing and testing different prototypes. One old party table has now been transformed into two functional classroom tables, almost doubling the available workspace while using the same materials. It isn't perfect yet. But every prototype brings us one step closer. The video below shows some of these ideas and how we are trying to stretch every single dollar as far as possible. To complete this small project, we need to build around 20 more tables. Because I build everything myself, each table costs only about USD 15 instead of around USD 45 to buy. That means every donation goes three times further. Everything at Paradise School is 100% FREE. * The children never pay. * Their families never pay. * I don't receive a salary. Every donation goes directly into creating opportunities for children who deserve the same chance in life as any child anywhere else in the world. Sometimes changing a life doesn't start with a scholarship, a laptop or a new school building. Sometimes... It starts with a simple table. If you would like to help us build these tables, every contribution—no matter the size—will make a real difference. And if you cannot donate, sharing this post could help us reach someone who can. Thank you for believing that education has the power to change lives. ❤️ #Cambodia #Education #Children #NonProfit #Volunteer #STEM #DigitalEducation #Community #MakingADifference #LinkedInForGood

A growing community needs schools that can grow with it. 🚀 Through our KFM subsidiary in the DRC, CMOC has supported Bwasalangana Primary School since funding its construction and opening in 2022, helping more local children access education. 📚 As the village population and student enrolment have grown, KFM has added three fully equipped classrooms under its 2024–2028 Social Responsibility Program to meet rising demand. 🏫 This expansion also included sanitary facilities, perimeter walls, flagpoles and a school sign wall, creating a safer and more complete learning environment. Handed over to the community in 2025, the project has significantly boosted Bwasalangana Village’s educational infrastructure. Across neighbouring communities, KFM has also supported school construction and expansion in two other primary schools, as well school scholarships, teacher development and learning equipment donations. 🎓 By investing in education today, we are helping strengthen communities and expand opportunities for the next generation. 🌱 #Education #CommunityDevelopment #ResponsibleMining

This Nelson Mandela Day, we are reminded of the lasting power of education, access and opportunity. Computer Aid works to bridge the digital divide sustainably, including through projects and partnerships that support digital access in South Africa and beyond. In honour of Mandela Day, we encourage people to spend 67 minutes giving back to their communities, supporting others and taking action where they can. Another practical way to help is by giving unused technology a second life. Donated laptops can help support access to education, skills and opportunity for people who need it most. #NelsonMandelaDay #DigitalInclusion #ComputerAid #TechForGood

We Build People. And that means investing in what comes next. 💛 The Wayne Mathew Naidoo Foundation is proud to have sponsored two young people from under-resourced communities in South Africa with R14,000 towards their learnership journey after matric, through Abba’s Pride’s TLOTSO Learnership Programme. The programme provides the structure and support needed to help these young people transition into the next phase of their lives, including housing, a living stipend, tutoring, education support, mentorship and practical work experience as they prepare for further study, employment and independence. What made this especially meaningful was hearing directly from the students themselves. Their stories, ambition and determination were a powerful reminder that potential exists everywhere, but opportunity does not. This is why the Foundation exists. To invest in people, unlock potential and help build futures that can change families and communities for generations. That is what we mean when we say: We Build People.💛 #thewaynemathewnaidoofoundation #webuildpeople #nonprofit

A library is one of the most powerful investments a community can make in a child's future. As we begin a new month, we are grateful for a recent donation of books from a friend of Elimu Fanaka. This contribution represents more than reading materials it represents opportunity, access, and hope. With only 33 days until International Literacy Day, we continue to mobilize support for the #JengaLibraryCampaign. Our goal is to raise KES 2.25 million (approximately USD 20,000) to establish fully functional libraries that expand access to quality reading materials and strengthen foundational literacy outcomes for children in underserved communities. Research consistently shows that access to books and reading environments is strongly linked to improved literacy development, educational attainment, and lifelong learning opportunities. We invite: • Corporate partners looking to create meaningful social impact • Foundations and philanthropic organizations investing in education • Individuals who believe every child deserves the opportunity to read and thrive • Book donors and literacy champions Every contribution whether books, funding, advocacy, or partnership—helps move us closer to a future where every child has access to the tools they need to learn. Join us on 7–8 September as we mark #InternationalLiteracyDay and advance our collective commitment to literacy, learning, and opportunity. Together, we can build libraries that build futures. #Education #Literacy #SocialImpact #Partnerships #CommunityDevelopment #ElimuFanaka
