Across the Karu, an energy revolution is underway. The 140 MW Kangela moaning windfall is part of Anthems 420 MW northern cluster of three wind farms which will commence operation later this year. All 32 Vestas V163 turbines are now erected, each delivering 4.5 megawatts. Blades sweep through a 163 meter rotor diameter at hub heights of 96 meters. The northern cluster is owned by Anthem together with equity partner Ria Tilley Renewables. Rio Tintos Richards Bay Minerals is Kangela's customer, a valued partner to Anthem. They have anchored this phase of the Northern cluster through a long term power purchase agreement, reducing and giving them more certainty on input costs and making a major contribution to their decarbonization. Robbie's Infrastructure is the contractor responsible for the civil and electrical works, which are now largely complete. The Northern Cluster projects are funded and built. They required great connection infrastructure which consists of the now energized Gamma B main transmission substation. As well as over 68 kilometers of 132 KV overhead power lines and three SCOM switching stations which are still under construction. Anthem. Power with purpose.
