Amplitude Energy’s Post

Helping Bring Watson’s Tree Frog Back from the Brink 🐸 Amplitude Energy is proud to support the recovery of the critically endangered Watson’s Tree Frog, a species once thought extinct in Victoria until its remarkable rediscovery in East Gippsland in 2015. Working with the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action’s Gippsland team, we have supplied materials for an innovative reintroduction program that repurposes clean industrial drums into above-ground breeding habitats. Plans include releasing both adult frogs and captive-bred tadpoles into specially designed above-ground ponds. To support this effort, Amplitude Energy donated 30 clean, unused 44-gallon drums, filled with water in the field to create safe habitats where tadpoles can develop into frogs before entering the wild. Led by Wild Research Pty Ltd in partnership with the Moogji Aboriginal Council, the project creates safer environments for tadpoles to develop while reducing exposure to disease, including the devastating chytrid fungus. By supporting this initiative, we’re helping protect biodiversity, strengthen regional ecosystems, and contribute to the long-term recovery of one of Victoria’s most threatened native species. #ActResponsibly #EnvironmentalStewardship #Sustainability #WatsonsTreeFrog #CommunityPartnerships Photo credit to Matt West of Wild Research Pty Ltd
