The most effective emergency drills don't just test procedures. They test how an entire organization responds together. At SAFEMINDS Orange County, Calvin Fakkema, Director of Support Services at Children's Hospital of Orange County, explained why preparedness means involving every department, assigning clear responsibilities, and helping people understand how their actions affect the broader response. From valet teams and labor pools to clinical and operational staff, each role can influence how effectively an organization responds during a critical incident. Watch the video to hear why realistic training and cross-functional coordination are essential to building stronger preparedness. #EmergencyPreparedness #HealthcareSecurity #LeadershipInsights #SecurityLeadership #AlliedUniversal

Stronger Together 💪 On Wednesday, August 5, the Village joined forces with leadership from the Glencoe Park District, School District 35, Glencoe Public Library and Family Service of Glencoe for a joint emergency response tabletop exercise led by Glencoe Public Safety. The exercise brought the partner organizations together to practice coordinated responses to a range of crisis scenarios, sharpen best practices and identify key takeaways for each group moving forward. These exercises are a regular occurrence, allowing teams to refine and practice their emergency protocols in a low-stakes environment. #GlencoeIL @glencoeparks @glencoepubliclibrary Family Service of Glencoe

I had the opportunity to attend this training in Tracy this week and see firsthand the important work Knowledge Saves Lives Inc. is doing to help schools prepare for emergencies. More than 140 Tracy Unified School District employees participated in practical, high-impact training covering situational awareness, classroom lockdown procedures, evacuation best practices, and nationally recognized Stop the Bleed® techniques. The commitment of the district’s staff and leadership to protecting their students and school community was clear throughout the training. While MGT did not lead this particular engagement with Tracy Unified, we are proud to have a strategic partnership with KSL that allows us to support and expand the critical work they are doing. Through this partnership, we can bring customized emergency preparedness and response training to the schools and organizations we serve. To explore bringing this type of training to your organization, please reach out to me or your MGT representative. We would be glad to discuss how MGT and KSL can support your safety and preparedness goals. #SchoolSafety #EmergencyPreparedness #KnowledgeSavesLives #MGT #StrategicPartnership #StopTheBleed #CrisisPreparedness

The PSP is helping expand fire and EMS training programs across Eddy, Lea, and Chaves Counties in Southeast New Mexico so first responders have the tools and training they need to protect the communities they serve. Strong communities depend on the people who show up when emergencies happen. #PermianStrong

The best time to build an emergency plan was before you needed it. The second best time is today. I'm Robert Baldwin, and I started Baldwin Safety Solutions to help organizations move past the binder-on-a-shelf approach to emergency preparedness. For more than 20 years I've worked in emergency management — building Emergency Operations Plans, Continuity of Operations (COOP) strategies, and running the tabletop exercises that turn those plans into practiced responses. The through-line in all of it: a plan only works when it reflects how your organization actually operates. I'm launching this page to share what I've learned — practical, standards-based guidance for the agencies, healthcare organizations, schools, and businesses that carry the responsibility of being ready. No fear-selling. Just useful thinking on how to be genuinely prepared, from someone who's been in the room when things went wrong. Follow along if that's helpful — and if your team is rethinking its readiness, my door is open. Prepared today. Resilient tomorrow. #EmergencyManagement #EmergencyPreparedness #BusinessContinuity #COOP #SafetyConsulting

Knowledge builds confidence when the pressure is real. 🧠 First responders need practical tools for more than emergency response. Inspired by When the Siren Stops, speaking and training sessions help teams recognize stress, communicate earlier, support one another, and protect their well-being beyond the scene. August is National Emergency Management Awareness Month. Take a moment within your organization to consider how your company, operation, or agency prepares itself periodically (maybe annually or seasonally) to respond to disaster events—whether natural, human-caused, or technological. Think beyond prevention but also into the response and recovery phases of an emergency. Don't forget to consider how you are personally prepared to respond to an emergency scenario—What would you do if you were at home? What would you do if you were driving to work? Do you have the materials you need to help you through the next 30 minutes, 2 hours, 3 days? "Preparedness starts long before a disaster."
Today is Emergency Management Recognition Day in Ohio. See the video below for a message from Executive Director Sima Merick. https://lnkd.in/edhNx84Y
