Heart Aerospace’s Post

“Hybrids, rather than fully electric planes, are likely to triumph.” Today, The Economist examines the growing momentum behind hybrid-electric flight and highlights Heart Aerospace’s work to build the ES-30, a hybrid-electric regional airliner. The article notes that Heart expects the ES-30 “to be some 40% cheaper to operate than existing regional jets" and looks ahead to the first flight of the Heart X1 demonstrator, “the largest battery-powered aircraft ever to take off.” Read the full story: https://lnkd.in/gPuvsT5P # # #

Not really bothered if it is all electric or hybrid as long as it gets the job done over the sub regional range. Either version will have a lower environmental footprint and lower DOC allowing them to operate on routes that traditional hydrocarbon aircraft can't touch. What we do believe is that RAM will have a larger global market than UAM. We are not saying UAM will not be successful, it will. Its just that RAM moves more people over longer distances offering more utility for the price they pay in comparison to surface modes of transport.

Fredrik Kämpfe 🟢 Electric aircraft are absolutely going to play a real role, especially for short‑distance passenger movement and point‑to‑point mobility. As battery technology improves, those capabilities will expand even further. In the meantime, regional aviation and advanced mobility will rely on hybrid‑electric aircraft to achieve the range needed for a viable business case. Hybrid systems make the economics and the use cases workable until full‑electric platforms can reach longer distances.

I bet on hybrid-electric for commercial regional air transport and 100% electric for small scale/route/capacity aviation.

Heart Aerospace might be worth reading (and sharing) if the article wasn’t behind a paywall. 🙈

eVTOL: We are currently engaging with airports, as well as select off-airport locations, to initiate discussions around the future development of Drone Ports, Air Taxi Ports, and Vertiports. In parallel, we are already involved in more than 25 feasibility studies focused on the implementation of these infrastructures, giving us strong insight into both operational and strategic considerations across different environments. We would greatly welcome the opportunity to explore this with you, either through an initial conference call or a face-to-face meeting at your convenience. Please let us know your availability for a call or meeting in the coming weeks.
