As the business continues to expand its enterprise offering in the US, they are seeking a commercially minded and execution-focused Risk Strategy Manager to help evaluate new opportunities, support sustainable growth, and strengthen risk practices across the organization.

The Opportunity

This role sits at the intersection of Risk, Compliance, Product, Operations, and Commercial teams. You'll be responsible for assessing new business opportunities, understanding complex customer and payment flows, identifying key risks, and providing practical recommendations that enable growth while maintaining appropriate safeguards.

The ideal candidate is comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment and can quickly understand how businesses operate, evaluate risks, and influence decision-making across multiple stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess enterprise clients, strategic partners, and new business opportunities from a risk perspective
• Analyze customer business models, transaction activity, operational structures, and product use cases to identify fraud, credit, operational, compliance, and third-party risks
• Deliver clear, commercially practical risk recommendations to stakeholders
• Partner with Commercial, Product, Operations, Compliance, and other internal teams to evaluate and manage risk throughout the customer lifecycle
• Act as a trusted advisor to the business by balancing growth objectives with effective controls and governance
• Monitor ongoing portfolio performance, emerging risks, and operational trends, recommending enhancements to controls, processes, and monitoring frameworks where appropriate
• Support the development of scalable risk management practices that enable continued business growth

Required Experience

• 5+ years of experience within risk management, payments, fintech, merchant acquiring, B2B onboarding, or a related risk strategy environment
• Strong understanding of enterprise payment risk and risk assessment methodologies
• Experience within international payments, cross-border commerce, merchant services, embedded finance, or adjacent fintech sectors
• Strong analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills
• Proven ability to work cross-functionally with commercial, operational, product, and compliance stakeholders

Desired Profile

• Degree educated in Finance, Business, Economics, Risk Management, or a related discipline
• Able to rapidly absorb complex information and translate findings into clear recommendations for stakeholders
• Comfortable influencing senior leaders and driving outcomes across cross-functional teams
• Understanding of regulatory considerations within financial services or payments environments
• Strong project management and prioritization skills
• Innovative and solutions-oriented approach to problem-solving
• Adaptable and comfortable working in a dynamic, high-growth environment

Compensation

• Base salary: $180,000-$200,000
• Competitive benefits package
