POSITION SUMMARY

The Retail Sales Analyst provides the analytical backbone for a supplier team managing a branded portfolio at Walmart. This role owns the data, reporting, and insight generation that drive category strategy, line reviews, pricing decisions, and day-to-day account management. Working closely with sales, category management, marketing, and supply chain, the Analyst turns point-of-sale, share, and inventory data into clear, decision-ready recommendations that support Walmart U.S. and, as needed, Canada and other international accounts.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Build and maintain recurring and ad hoc sales reporting using Walmart Scintilla, Retail Link, and internal POS data, tracking units, retail dollars, AUR, and channel performance (in-store, SFS, S2H, Pickup, Delivery).
• Analyze weekly and period-over-period trends at the brand, category, item, and item-color level to identify growth opportunities, velocity issues, and AUR erosion.
• Prepare category review and line review materials, including POS-based category goals, market share analysis, and competitive benchmarking by sub-category.
• Support pricing and profitability analysis, including cost/retail change scenarios, rollback recommendations, and GP impact modeling for new and existing items.
• Tracks special events, trends, promotional calendars, and new item launches with insights to drive actions.
• Helps with execution of item creation and maintenance.
• Track chargebacks, deductions, and post-audit disputes, compiling supporting documentation for resolution with the Walmart merchant team.
• Create executive-ready decks, one-pagers, and workbooks summarizing findings for internal leadership and Walmart buyer-facing meetings.
• Maintain item master and pricing files, including tracking transitions between item numbers (e.g., product reformulations or compliance-driven changes) to preserve clean year-over-year comparisons.
• Monitor competitor pricing, assortment, and promotional activity within assigned categories.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Analytics, Finance, Economics, Supply Chain, or related field.
• 2–4 years of experience in retail sales analytics, category management, or a related analyst role; experience supporting a Walmart supplier team strongly preferred.
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, complex formulas, multi-tab models); comfort building and maintaining large, multi-source workbooks.
• Hands-on experience with Walmart Scintilla and/or Retail Link is a strong plus.
• Working knowledge of PowerPoint and Word for building polished, merchant-ready and executive-ready materials.
• Strong attention to detail and a habit of validating outputs against known business facts rather than relying on estimates.
• Ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable narratives for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Comfortable managing multiple concurrent projects and deadlines in a fast-paced retail environment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This role is based out of our Bentonville, AR office and works cross-functionally with sales, marketing, product development, and supply chain teams, as well as counterparts supporting Canada and other international Walmart accounts. Some flexibility to accommodate line review cycles
