QA Analyst / QA Engineer

Position Summary

We are seeking a Senior QA Analyst / QA Engineer to join a collaborative team supporting state-of-the-art bridge management software used by Departments of Transportation across North America. The software enables government agencies to inventory, inspect, and manage bridges.

The ideal candidate will work closely with Product Owners, QA professionals, Civil Engineers, and Software Developers to ensure high-quality, reliable software releases.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and execute detailed test plans and test cases covering functional, regression, integration, cross-browser, and mobile-responsive testing.
• Perform exploratory testing to identify issues that may not be uncovered through scripted test cases.
• Document clear, detailed, and reproducible defects, including steps to reproduce, expected vs. actual results, environment details, and supporting evidence.
• Investigate issues and collaborate with Engineering and Product teams on root-cause analysis, severity, and prioritization.
• Validate defect fixes and perform regression testing prior to release sign-off.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Contribute to improving QA processes, testing strategies, and overall product quality.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of software QA experience, with significant experience testing complex web applications.
• Strong understanding of QA methodologies, SDLC, and Agile/Scrum practices.
• Proven ability to develop thorough test cases based on ambiguous or incomplete requirements.
• Working knowledge of SQL for data setup, validation, and verification.
• Experience with Jira or similar defect tracking and test management tools.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with accessibility testing and WCAG 2.1 AA standards.
• Basic understanding of security testing and the OWASP Top 10.
• Experience with API testing using Postman, REST Assured, or equivalent tools.
• Proficiency with browser developer tools for inspecting network traffic, console errors, and the DOM.
• Familiarity with transportation, bridge inspection, civil engineering, or other infrastructure-related domains.
