Global Integrated Communications Director – House of Whiskey, Rum and Agave
Reports to: Managing Director, House of Agave / Head of Marketing, House of Whiskey & Rum
Your Role
The Global Communications Director is a senior subject-matter expert and strategic leader within the House of Whiskey & Rum and House of Agave teams, partnering with global brand teams, market brand teams, and cross-functional groups to shape integrated communications strategies that earn attention, strengthen brand equity, and deepen consumer connection.
The Director plays a lead role in driving the earned communications strategy for our brands, while providing meaningful oversight and guidance across paid, owned, and shared channels. The Director leads and contributes to the development of global communications tools, channel strategies, creative platforms, and cultural programs — ensuring our brands show up cohesively, consistently, and with cultural resonance around the globe.
Ultimately, this role strengthens both Houses by delivering high-impact communications that drive engagement, reinforce brand identity, safeguard brand reputation and support business growth. The Global Communications Director should aim to bring clarity, creativity, and discipline to how our brands tell their stories to the world.

Your Impact in this role
As Global Integrated Communications Director, you will:
Strategic Communications Leadership & Planning
- Define the strategic role of each communications touchpoint — at global and local levels — establishing clear KPIs, success metrics, and accountability structures for each channel.
- Translate high-level brand strategies into actionable, scalable communications frameworks that inspire alignment across global and local teams.
- Provide guidance on A&P investment priorities for integrated comms, advising brand teams on how budgets should be allocated across channels, programs, and markets to maximize earned impact and overall communications ROI.
- Work with Integrated Comms Manager to develop holistic communications frameworks and annual calendars that synchronize across Paid, Owned, Earned, and Shared channels (PESO), aligned with global brand priorities and tailored to the media maturity of individual markets.
- Lead the development brand plans to effectievly build earned-driving strategies based on brand role and strategy for new brand initiatives, including campaign launches, product innovations, limited editions, events, brand home experiences, and cultural programs.
- Conceive and develop culturally relevant creative territories (or “big ideas”) that earn attention, spark conversation, and give media, influencers and consumers a compelling reason to engage with our brands.
- Define timing, phasing, and channel strategies for all major announcements and launches, ensuring coordinated and impactful rollout across global and local markets.
- Lead the development of key global PR assets, including press releases, Q&As, press kits, and briefing materials, maintaining a consistently high standard of storytelling and brand voice.
- Collaborate with the Integrated Communications Manager and Brand teams on content development, ensuring that owned and social content aligns with the broader earned communications narrative.
- Identify and develop new brand storytelling opportunities by staying attuned to cultural trends, consumer behaviors, and competitive category movements.
- Define, strengthen, and maintain foundational brand messaging architecture, ensuring key messages are clear, differentiated, and consistently applied across all communications.
- Translate brand “reasons to believe” into compelling, accessible language for consumer-facing and trade-facing audiences.
- Develop comprehensive Q&As, messaging guides, spokesperson briefs, and communications toolkits that equip internal teams, agency partners, and market brand teams to represent our brands with confidence and accuracy.
- Serve as the primary global communications contact for crisis and issues management across the brand portfolio, working in close partnership with the Corporate Communications team to manage reputational risks swiftly and effectively.
- Define and lead the influencer and talent strategy for each brand, articulating the role influencer and talent partnerships play in the communications ecosystem, and establishing the framework for identifying, vetting, and engaging the right voices.
- Support lower-funnel content creator and micro-influencer programs in partnership with the Integrated Communications Manager, ensuring content output is multi-use, on-brand, and integrated within the broader communications framework.
- Proactively research, identify, and approach brand and organizational partners for mutually beneficial collaborations, bringing a creative and commercially minded lens to all partnership opportunities.
- Support the amplification and strategic evaluation of existing sponsorships and cultural programs, ensuring communications strategies maximize their earned value.
- Lead any strategic entertainment marketing initiatives in close partnership with the U.S. Entertainment Marketing lead, integrating brand narratives into relevant entertainment and pop culture moments.
- Scout and advise on strategic media partnerships in close collaboration with global media teams and integrated comms manager.
- Own the PR and communications agency roster, defining the optimal agency structure across brands and markets, and making recommendations on agency appointments, scope changes, and consolidations.
- Lead or support PR/Integrated agency briefing processes, ensuring partners are deeply immersed in brand strategy, communications frameworks, and cultural context before developing any work.
- Conduct regular agency performance evaluations against agreed KPIs, providing structured feedback and holding partners accountable for quality, integration, and responsiveness.
- Negotiate agency scopes of work and retainer structures in collaboration with procurement and brand leadership, ensuring investment is appropriately sized and efficiently deployed.
- Act as a strategic communications partner for local markets, consulting on campaign rollouts, helping teams adapt global assets with cultural relevance, and reviewing written materials such as press releases.
- Build and maintain strong cross-functional relationships across the organization, including market brand teams, global brand teams, R&D and innovation teams, legal and regulatory, consumer insights, brand home teams, experiential marketing, and corporate communications.
- Represent the communications function in cross-functional planning sessions ensuring comms considerations are embedded early in the development of new initiatives, innovations, and brand positioning.
- Lead the development and ongoing refinement of measurement guidelines and reporting frameworks for PR, earned media, and talent/influencer programs, in close partnership with the Integrated Marketing Solutions (IMS) team.
- Manage ongoing monitoring of earned media conversation across all brands, tracking volume, sentiment, share of voice, and narrative alignment against brand positioning using global tools.
- Track and analyze the communications activity of key competitors as well as category-level trends.
- Define KPIs and benchmarks for each brand campaign and communications program ahead of launch, and lead post-campaign reporting that delivers clear assessment of earned results.

Experience & Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or related field (Master’s Degree is a plus).
- 7+ years of experience in communications, marketing communications, or project-based communication roles.
