Today kicks off Bullying No Way Week in Australia—calling attention to the formidable threat harassment poses to Australian workers and the urgent need for employer support. Despite nearly half of Australian employees experiencing harassment in the workplace, only 16 percent say that someone intervened to help. This highlights the critical need for organisation-wide training that transforms passive peers into active champions of wellbeing. Through our extensive Global Learning Solutions catalogue, we provide the training leaders need to empower their teams to maintain a supportive and respectful workplace culture. Through our Responding to Bullying and Harassment course, managers and peers gain the insights and skills needed to identify and address problematic behaviours, intervene safely and effectively, and contribute to an environment that protects against abuse. Each year, over 70,000 lives are lost to suicides attributed to the workplace. Yet each year also offers hope: the chance to save 70,000 lives—and meaningfully improve countless more. It also starts with addressing psychosocial risks. Findings from the International Labour Organization show that factors such as high job demands and low autonomy are among the leading drivers of work-related suicide. By acting early to mitigate these risks, leaders can cultivate safe environments where people feel seen, valued, and cared for. While burnout is often treated as an unavoidable workplace reality, strategic training can actually prevent it. Proactive training equips individuals with the skills and practical tools needed to manage stress, balance competing responsibilities, and confidently navigate change. Especially for working caregivers—who comprise a majority of the global workforce and represent a disproportionate share of those experiencing or at risk of burnout—such training becomes essential. “On a personal level, this topic resonates with me because I’ve experienced caregiver burnout myself,” admits Joni Wright, M.Ed., Learning Solutions Project Manager, in a new episode of Wellbeing At Work. “It was through our Global Learning Solutions trainings that I gained a clear understanding of what I was experiencing and learned practical strategies to manage those challenges more effectively.” Listen to the full conversation on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, YouTube, or at https://lnkd.in/gmCHHs8c #WPOCares #CaregiverStress #CaregiverBurnout #ParentalStress #ParentalBurnout #CaregiverWellbeing #ParentWellbeing #ChildAndFamilyWellbeing #Training

At Workplace Options (WPO), we believe suicide prevention begins long before a crisis. It starts by fostering psychologically safe environments where support is visible, accessible, and part of the everyday employee experience. Ahead of World Suicide Prevention Day, our leaders explain why this commitment matters and how employers can champion mental health in the workplace. “When support is normalized and available early, employees are more likely to seek help before distress intensifies.” Download our resource guide for people leaders today—and take the first step toward a safer workplace: https://lnkd.in/g-Ek5xbF Isam Sharqawi Wynne W.
